No. Should of never been in this situation in the first place. This problem was created by the government.
Printing money like this is probably the best plan, right now. Relief programs of this magnitude are experimental and they go way beyond Keynes.
The tightening up the money supply in 1930 led to an unprecedented disaster, though and there really isn’t any other direction to go in
other than this magnitude of relief package. America can literally fail if something doesn’t happen.
The question of whether politicians “care” about fellow Americans is beyond the point. We elect them to represent us and defend our rights as human beings, and to represent our political will. If it ever becomes necessary to appeal to someone’s gentler nature, (I.E. if they care about fellow Americans) then we are not in a representative form of government, but more of an Oligarchy where we are obliged to eat only the table scraps that the dog didn’t want.
Republicans need to vote for it!
We are a failing democracy because of 1) the electoral college 2) plurality voting 3) the Senate. This is the root of many evils in the USA.
Solutions: 1) remove it 2) replace it 3) change it.
