@Bat Boy: It’s not democratic? Maybe you just don’t understand it. No State gets more say than it has REPRESENTATION in Congress. The electoral college ensures that that DEMOCRATIC balance remains the same for a Presidential election. It’s the same amount of say that any given State has on any other issue; one VOTE per Representative and one VOTE per Senator. Votes and equal Representation are the foundation of our democracy.
@Bat Boy: There is a legitimate argument for Statehood for PR and DC. But I don’t need to watch your video. I majored in sociology. Do you think that you (and the makers of your video) know better than the founders and every State that joined the Union after the Constitution was written? I mean c’mon dude. If the system wasn’t fair, then why would all the States agree to it?
@Reason – The USA “operating system” needs a big upgrade. Don’t make the mistake of worshipping a document written over 200+ years ago. Even back then, they knew changes would be needed, hence amendments. Unfortunately, the US is like a robot too busy punching itself in the face, to accept new programming to stop. However, the problem will always be there. This is “the hole in the roof”. We can ignore it, but it will not ignore us.
