I was also taken aback by that, Laurie should have said mink are used for their fur. I was utterly horrified by photos of those creatures killed in Denmark due to the virus. Perhaps we need more such photos, and in meat factories. That said, Laurie is an excellent reporter, right on top of her job here, let’s cut her some slack for not the best word usage.

So now we have a mutated strain that spreads 70% FASTER than the previous virus just as we desperately need to SLOW DOWN the spread because our hospitals are at the breaking point. Does anyone else see the train wreck coming?
The strain that spread X% faster has absurdly low mortality rates. It’s not the strain from day 1 anymore, even that strain killed less than a common cold. Still has the permanent effect on your lungs each time you catch it, but chances are, you yourself have probably already had COVID-19 before, it was just so pathetically weak you didn’t notice.

Too bad she is completely wrong. This is NOT a new “strain”, it is a “variant”, and it has NOT been demonstrated to have any new biological properties. See virologists on TWiV discussing this.
This is pure misinformation … like everything else on this channel. Seriously, MSNBC is a huge threat to humanity and you need to figure this out fast. Research all of their claims thoroughly.
