Repubs don’t like misinformation and hate speech unless it comes from Faux News or tRump’s Twitter feed.
I’ve just stared into the abyss over at Faux ‘news’ and it’s a scary place.

Trump saw a vast demographics of people who are discontented by government and wealthier people some deprived of external exposure to media. Large groups of racist xenophobic groups, conspiracy and 2nd amendment supporters in the republican party. He knew he can manipulate and monopolize in their ignorance and hate, the outcome is what we see today the take over of a Republican ideal now in the hands of a dictator.

Yes, the algorithms that push anger and hate need to be changed. There is more to success than just clicks. Content should be evaluated for truthfulness. It is beyond obscene that someone looking for natural baby food recipes is shown antivax sites. The algorithms have pushed insane conspiracy theories, like Qanon.
Just a reminder that Twitter can’t ban white nationalist speech because they would have to ban numerous Republican Congressional Representatives and Senators for the very same speech.
