RELATED: President Trump declares national emergency

Legislation to provide economic relief to Americans affected by coronavirus is heading to the Senate for an expected vote Monday. The Families First Coronavirus Response Act would ensure sick leave for affected workers and include money for coronavirus testing for Americans, including the uninsured. Trump and lawmakers have been under pressure to ease fears over the spread of COVID-19, which has halted many parts of public life, forced the closure of schools and pummeled financial markets.

    1. This won’t be like anything you have seen before, so my advice to you..

Prepare yourself because this won’t pass anytime soon.

    2. @David365 00 A national lock down may be a blessing. If EVERYONE stays home, no exceptions, we will be rid of this thing in 5 ish weeks. We all know that few people will to that without being forced.

  1. Back in the day if you passed on HIV after you were exposed Pence it was considered a crime. Get freaking tested. You are spreading they myth that people who don’t have symptoms aren’t active super spreaders.

    1. Don’t kid yourself! Tis admin doesn’t want it anymore than anyone else. They’re probably tested frequently & the best care in the world is on standby to get them through it if needed.

  2. He looks so exhausted. He sounds it too. I feel for him during this. It can’t be easy to be the face of the United States to the rest of us. This is a lot like the stress of the Bush Jr administration, but a different type of terrorism. The biological kind. Poor man. I wouldn’t want to be him.

    1. @Jerry W” disaster don ” as you put it. Look, I apologize for telling you to STFU. Its your right to have your opinion. I’m not a member of either of the two main political parties. I’m just tired of the divisiveness in our nation. Anyway, have a nice week.

    1. @docfloc oy calm down bruv why r u attacking people and a leader from a country on comment of a video produced by an American youtube channel with the American leader speaking about a serious disease. I’m hoping u aint British cus the way I see it what ur saying doesn’t help anyone including yourself and you’d make any nation your from look bad.

    2. Deanna Williams well said Jesus said all this has to happen Before his Return earth quakes, plagues, Ect…. Respect the Living Word Of God for it stands forever!!! Time is now to repent and accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior he is the Antidote for the Coronavirus in the Name of Jesus Amen

    3. @Darla Taylor there is no jesus and nonsense… But the virus and peoples ignorance are very real!

  3. I was told to work or be fired that they are not paying us to sitting out the virus and i am high risk and disabled here in oregon and i work retail

    1. If I were you I would look into how to report that .. maybe something won’t be done right away but I am sure if the outcry is large enough there may be news coverage on it, or call governor

    2. Like I have posted, hoping that the state and national government will take care of this–. The House is trying to get a bill passed which will effectively address these situations . Take care

    3. Dont go….Instead let them fire you and assure to them you are feeling stressed out from this.. Also reach out to your local department of labor and check out bbb.org you may want to report this and or take a leave of absence. Put these jerks on blast and throw it in their face because your life is not worth flipping a coin and taking that chance.

    4. @Celtic Whisper Retail jobs generally don’t pay sick leave or only for a very brief period. Than you’re quickly replaced anyhow.

    5. Barbara Boronda You may want to consider getting fired. Under these exceptional circumstances, you may (should) be able to qualify for unemployment, which would be a life saver in more than 1 way! It’s urgent though, for the employer to verbalize to you that you’re being fired & probably best if they also say for that specific reason!

    1. Cris B Bacon It’s a shame that Trump dragged his feet, lied so long & threw this country under the bus when there was a window of opportunity to address this crisis early on.

    1. @Martine Mikita For many seniors (or anyone) on low fixed incomes, $3 can be a substantial amt of $$$ to pay for a delivery. Especially after paying the high cost of groceries.

    2. @Scott Adkins They do? You better tell them that and I guess you’re hoping to be gone before reaching YOUR “golden years” too. Wouldn’t wanna be a burden, right?

  4. How is the CDC new guidelines to stay away from groups of 10 but domestic travel is not suspended

  5. my question is what about the people who work in housekeeping or other hospitality? they are going out of work fast and no way to pay their bills or rent.

    1. @William E Higgins Jr. LCDR USNR That would be the solution.. .. But the working class has never been so lucky…

    2. @Doll Whitman Demand it to your government representatives on all levels… We need to prevent any further homeless and to reduce the numbers that are homeless now. It is very difficult to maintain the distance at the shelters. many are following the guideline for people to sleep in opposite directions against the common wall. HUD wants shelters to establish curtains between people. If any are infected, they will be segregated to isolated segments of shelters to not transmit to others.

    1. There is such a big difference in his speeches when he is sober and off whatever drug he is normally on. He is sober here.

  6. Hope people take this serious. Young people may survive from this virus but you also want your parents, grandparents and other elder loved ones still around you.

    1. Its literally the flu virus which pilbright group patented in 2003 and tge dsy after its expiration it becomes a pandemic virus??? 68 actual and presumed deaths since jan 21, 2020…those deaths aren’t considering any underlying medical issues and they are “presumed” numbers, not actual fact. Patent been around since 2003 but no one dies until the patent expires and can no longer be patented because a virus cannot be patented. He said it is extremely contagious but don’t run out n get tested…this is a social experiment and ur all falling for it

    2. @Shays my Name you wanna come to italy and check by yourself? Plz do so… You invited and I pay your flight!

  7. When this spreads beyond control blame the business owners for the serious lack of sick time and vacation time that should be allowed to everyone.

    1. And this man made virus wouldn’t have gotten far if employers allowed more sick days and vacation time.

    2. @Shays my Name trump, is that you? Anyway, yes, the flu is a killer however COVID-19 isn’t the flu & ppl are dying at an even higher rate from that.

    3. @James Hopkins Than that’s where unemployment benefits show kick in and under extraordinary circumstances like this, it should be expedited & extended if necessary

    4. @Annie Paulson According to reports, t’s not a man made virus. It came from someone eating an ant eater purchased at a Chinese wet market.

  8. Okay, so I am writing this at the 19 minute mark of the press conference and I have to say this was the most honest I’ve seen the President with respect to this crisis…that is a bit reassuring; I’d rather hear “we don’t know but we’re working on it” rather than empty rhetoric of everything being peachy. God willing we will come out the other side of this better and more united. To whomever reads this, despite not knowing you, I wish you, your family, friends and loved ones all the best, be safe and help others when possible. God bless.

Edit: I am a small business owner of a manufacturing company. I gathered my crew, gave them their paychecks and told them I don’t know if I will be able to pay them again (county shutdown directly impacts our company)…without hesitation every single one said they would work without pay until things resolve and stay home if they suspect they are I’ll or come into contact with anyone with symptoms. I was left speechless and tearful.

    1. Arthur Djahani That’s a beautiful story. I’m also a business owner and I had to do the same thing. My small staff is also sticking with me. I literally have no money (we’re in the event industry) but hopefully we will adapt. Our clients have also been overwhelmingly supportive during these terrifying times.

    2. Arthur Djahani Hopefully you’ll be appreciative of the sacrifice your employees made if/when your business survives or booms.

    3. @v blackwell Absolutely. I have sacrificed my own paycheck many times to ensure they’re okay…we consider ourselves a family and they know they can call on me anytime for anything and if it is within my reach, I will help them. I am truly blessed. May we all get through this safely and be better for it. God Bless.

  9. 1:14 she touches face

    26:20 the professionals
the person who touches face beings to talk

    its doomed LMAO

  10. I appreciate the presidents answers. This is a tough time and we have to band together to get over this virus.
