@Greg Gilly That’s not what a herd immunity is. herd immunity requires that most of the population get the disease, and have antibodies for it that protect them from future infections, and reduce the chances of a contagious person infecting anyone else. Sweden has not had most of their population get the disease.
Also, if abortions bother you, vote Dem. Sure, they’re against banning abortion, but their policies lead to lower abortion rates anyway. They have latched on to the idea that giving people enough information to make informed decisions and access to the means of controlling their own fertility will lead to people only getting pregnant when they intend to do so. Seems to work.

They now have 3 consecutive months with below average deathrate. July, august and september. September 2020 had the lowest deathtoll of all septembers in the last 5 years. Stop lying. They are thinking about lifting some restrictions, not doing more. Average age of death from corona is 82 in Sweden and life expectancy is 82. They are well on their way to hit a normal or slightly above normal total deathrate for this year. Only 3 months left of the year and idiots like you would be put to final shame.

@Greg Gilly Sweden *does not* have herd immunity. They are nowhere near the 77% (or so) required infection of the population.
Sweden sacrificed their seniors. Their death rate is 5x higher than neighboring countries.
The other problem is reinfection. Utah has a case of *more severe* reinfection after getting a *different strain* of Covid. Another patient *died* after 2nd infection in Netherlands..

Shutting down the economy, wiping out many businesses permanently and destroying peoples savings will have severe residual health effects on people, far greater and more pronounced than this virus which has a near 100% survival rate. @Greg Gilly There is no way to run an economy in a hurricane. The full Covid treatment is $30,000. Multiply that by 150 Million people. The cost- benefit analysis has been done back in January. That data is available.
The long-term effects of Covid include lung lesions, heart damage, blood pressure abnormalities, kidney damage, and in *4/5 admitted patients:* *Neurological symptoms* .
Covid is also more deadly than you have been lead to believe. 210,000 deaths per 7 million cases is 3%. It’s a 3% mortality rate. Multiply that by 330 Million people in the US. Then include lost productivity, long term heath care costs, and disabilities.
Covid is the single greatest immediate threat to economic stability on the planet. The economy is made of people; so that should surprise no one.

@Rino Ponce Good question, I also thought about that., so I researched. You should too, don’t take my word for it. Sweden had huge R-factor numbers at first and has lost proportionally many more lives than neighboring countries Sweden and Finland. However, they have done better than the more populous countries in Europe such as Italy, Spain and Germany.
The problems are the unknowns. We don’t know if Covid-19 is like Chicken Pox and you can only get it once. There have been multiple cases in Asia where people got it again and one in USA. In addition we DO know the virus has already mutated and evolved at least once (maybe twice) as there are a distinct European and Chinese strains. This also means any vaccine will also be suspect if the virus mutates significantly.
Sweden largely relied on people having common sense and taking personal responsibility, which they pretty much did do. Americans have already demonstrated to the world that they are incapable of doing the same. In my opinion, clearly a nation of spoiled children who cannot be inconvenienced in any way will die like flies.
