    1. On 12/21, about 0.5 million doses were administered. Today, it’s ~4 million doses. That means about 3.5 million doses in 10 days. We need 400 million doses for 60% vaccination estimated for original COVID strain to achieve herd immunity (or your normalcy). This will take 1140 days. If we need to deal with the newer more infectious strain, it’s said we need to achieve 80% vaccination, or 1508 days. These haven’t accounted for the gap until Jun/Jul of next year when we’d get more vaccines (because Trump’s admin didn’t order more). So we’re talking about 3-4 years. Meanwhile, we don’t know how long the vaccine could last. The regular flu vaccine lasts for about 6-8 months. So we’d have to give people second round of vaccination long before we finish the first round.

Clearly, there’s much to be improved. I hope Pfizer and other vaccine makers don’t let up, and reduce doses from 2 to 1, while remove the need for extreme cold storage. Meanwhile, our government under Biden needs to improve on distribution logistics. This current admin is a total failure!

    2. @Mr EDH Spanish flu was 100 years ago. You’d have thought we’ve enough technological and medical progress to do much better. Of course, back then, mobility wasn’t as good as today which was actually an advantage, as the outbreak could be localized and starved off more easily.

  1. “White House Officials Acknowledge Covid-19 Vaccination Pace Too Slow”.

In other words…White House Officials Acknowledge The Truth.

    1. As someone in a socialized health care system, the reason the American health system is complicated is because they make it so.

    2. @stayjit1 I lived in Winnipeg Canada for 3.5 years. There is a 13% tax on everything. I am thankful that I got a health card early.

  2. San Diego had 300 vaccines about to expire in 24 hours. They called Police, Fire and Lifeguards (who weren’t scheduled) to rush to vaccination site. JFC, can we get a f-ing plan please?! Hey Warpspeed team, can we get a plan? Operation Bozo more like it. Get it together.

    1. Overall logistic failure! As if no one had thought through the logistics after the vaccine is available and we pay for it. This admin really makes me sick; can’t really do anything right!

  3. Why would anyone fight so hard to hold onto a job they don’t want to do? I guess just having the title “President” is enough, because this is the most incompetent and ineffective administration of my lifetime.

  4. The graphic says 11 million doses have been distributed, while the reporter says 14 mullion doses have been distributed. MANBC is doing no better than the government.

  5. It’s back to the B$ of Trump blaming the States even though the Feds are the ones distributing the vaccine.

  6. Looks like the administration has dropped out of warp and is proceeding on impulse while still a light year away form the target location.
