I’m in Texas and got my power back last night after almost 3 days without. We also have to boil our water
I stayed inside and enjoyed my family.
They already had the answer at ERCOT. It was recommended years ago that they winterize their lines. They did nothing and now the gas lines are frozen. What do other states, that have colder temperatures do? They have already winterized their lines. Texas chose the cheaper option. They screwed up big time.

@Nild Malindi You are aware that a nuclear plant outside Houston saw one of it’s reactors go offline? The offsite facility that provided the water supply for the plant lost power, which meant there wasn’t sufficient water for both reactors.
@Kate King According to ERCOT 87% of the lost electricity generating capacity was due to the failure of plants that used either fossil fuel (natural gas, coal) or nuclear power. The wind powered turbines actually exceeded expectations.
