Why Chauvin Defense Is Focused On Witnesses To Floyd's Death | The 11th Hour | MSNBC

  1. When a planet can see blantant murder but you’re justice system needs over a year, a team of jurors, witnesses, a judge, and several videos and officers testimonies to convict, you know you’re system is absolutely broken and unjust.

    1. @FENTANYL FLOYD Steven Crowder had friends kneel pointlessly on his legs and back, with their weight resting on their legs, rather than their knees. A hand, microphone and picture-in-picture intentionally obscuring that fact for most(but not all) of the video. It was a stunt to give dumb racists validation and you fell for it because you are both dumb and racist.

    2. @Geralt Rivia HOW MUCH WEIGHT WAS ON FENTENAYL FLOYD? 0 DAMAGE TO HIS NECK.

      0 COMPLAINTS BY FLOYD.

CAN’T BREATHE BEFORE BEING ON THE GROUND.

      🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    3. Everybody gets their day in court and things aren’t always what they seem. That’s why we have trials, witnesses, a judge and evidence. We do ‘t let people off the street hold street court and be judge and jury. You’d expect your family member to get a fair trial.

    4. @Kevin Mitchell Jan.6th a black man breached the capital building and murdered a white police officer. Where is the outrage, the news coverage, the burning, looting and attacks on random black people? Why is that being ignored?

    5. @Deb C a Are you kidding me. YA’LL HAVE LITERALLY BEEN SLAUGHTERING AND INFLICTING UNIMAGINABLE CRUELTY ON MY PEOPLE LITERALLY, AND IM MEAN LITERALLY FOR CENTURIES. WITH IMPUNITY. THIS WHOLE MOVEMENT IS ABOUT PUTTING AN END TO THAT. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT, THEN YOU’RE JUST SICK AND RACIST. I HAD A GRANDFATHER WHO JUST DIED AND HE DIDN’T EVEN KNOW HOW OLD HE WAS.BECAUSE WHEN HE WAS BORN, ALABAMA WASN’T EVEN KEEPING RECORDS FOR BLACKS. I SWEAR PPL LIKE YOU MAKE IT REALLY HARD NOT TO HATE WHITE PPL.

  2. The only reason that the defence are concentrated on the witnesses is because they have nothing else.

    1. @Gerard Flynn you are correct but i love facts ,,and the best is yet to come remember justice must be blind to be fair

    2. Or maybe you need to diversify your news sources. Day 7 was an awful day for the prosecution, and defense absolutely destroyed Mercil and MacKenzie on cross-examination. In fact, Chauvin’s lawyers found prosecution witness Nicole MacKenize so helpful to their case, they’ve decided to recall her as a _defense_ witness.

    3. @Stuff & Things *Didn’t know the defense was done*

The defense hasn’t presented its case yet, and people here are already predicting conviction. I can already hear the outrage when Chauvin is acquitted and people discover MSNBC has been lying to them the whole time.

  3. Basically they want blame witness coz they fail to stop officer’s who have weapon in his hips ? WOW just WOW

    1. And of course, if the police had shot and killed bystanders, it would have been ruled justified.

  4. The ridiculous implication that police are suffocating a man in broad daylight and might receive praise from a crowd.

    1. STEVEN CROWDER HAD SOMEBODY KNEEL ON HIS NECK FOR 9:32… HE DIDN’T PASS OUT. HE DIDN’T HAVE TROUBLE BREATHING… HE DIDN’T DIE.

DMX DIDN’T HAVE ANYONE KNEELING ON HIM. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

“AAAAAGHH I ATE TOO MANY DRUGS” -GEORGE FLOYD…. ON BODY CAM FOOTAGE 5/25/2000.

      🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    2. @nuanil Can a person overdose on methamphetamine?

Yes, a person can overdose on methamphetamine. An overdose occurs when the person uses too much of a drug and has a toxic reaction that results in serious, harmful symptoms or death.
In 2017, about 15 percent of all drug overdose deaths involved the methamphetamine category, and 50 percent of those deaths also involved an opioid, with half of those cases related to the synthetic opioid fentanyl. (CDC Wonder Multiple Causes of Death—see #42 on Meth RR.)  It is important to note that cheap, dangerous synthetic opioids are sometimes added to street methamphetamine without the user knowing

How can a methamphetamine overdose be treated?

Because methamphetamine overdose often leads to a stroke, heart attack, or organ problems, first responders and emergency room doctors try to treat the overdose by treating these conditions, with the intent of:

restoring blood flow to the affected part of the brain (stroke)

restoring blood flow to the heart (heart attack)

      treating the organ problems

  5. “Comply or die” is tyranny! If you can physically stop the brutal treatment of citizens, it is your duty to do so.

    1. @Cameron Davis STEVEN CROWDER HAD SOMEBODY KNEEL ON HIS NECK FOR 9:32… HE DIDN’T PASS OUT. HE DIDN’T HAVE TROUBLE BREATHING… HE DIDN’T DIE.

DMX DIDN’T HAVE ANYONE KNEELING ON HIM. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

      🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    2. @Frances Brown The estimated lethal dose of fentanyl in humans is 2 mg. The recommended serum concentration for analgesia is 1–2 ng/ml and for anaesthesia it is 10–20 ng/ml. Blood concentrations of approximately 7 ng/ml or greater have been associated with fatalities where poly-substance use was involved.

FENTENAYL FLOYD- 11NG OF ILLEGAL FENTENAYL.
      METHAMPHETAMINE- 19NG.

      AKA a SPEEDBALL.

Respiratory failure is particularly likely with speedballs because the
effects of stimulants wear off far more quickly than the effects of
      opioids.
 For example, fatal slowing of the breathing can occur when the
stimulating cocaine wears off and the full effects of the heroin are
      felt on their own.

      🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    3. @Mr. H A negative public reaction to a judgement from a jury of their peers is a lynch mob mentality that will not be tolerated. That’s how things work in an adult world. Grow up or pay the consequences of your own actions.

  6. In other countries the onlookers would have been able to push him off George’s neck without fear of being shot to death themselves.

    1. @Ash Roskell No it wouldn’t happen in England because they have crippled their police force. Even the cops have to call the cops if someone has a gun.
Do you want to live in a world where the people there to protect you are just as pathetic as you.

  7. I think the bystanders were quite defensive. They did nothing against police although they tried with words also possibly harsh words and documented telephone calls to the police to stop what they were to their shock witnessing. I mean they witnessed a helpless man tortured to death by at last 3 obviously cruel and inhumane policemen. For 9 minutes!! What do people expect?? Should they just walk away or showing no move whatsoever. They are human beings and of course they were taking part in that horrible scene. They tried their best, I say.

  8. So defense is trying to put the drugs and Mr Floyd on trial….ok, if Chauvin and the other officers knew Mr. Floyd was on something why did they not render aid! No excuse for this man to die at the hands of the ‘Serve and Protect’

    1. Apparently, they’re going to charge that 7 year old with crying Floyd to death next? 🤷‍♂️

    2. MsK_byTheWay
how exactly would they know he was on drugs? Unless you do blood test you don’t have proof it is only a guess. The jury will decide his fate like it should be in America , you think?

  9. I keep saying it. The Defence are harming their client, and their own reputations by grasping at every straw that sticks out? They might as well be saying, “We’ll take anything, here.” Come ohhhn, man? . . . Do they want to work again? 🙄🤦‍♂️

    1. @Nathanael Culver just seen your comment now did you get a chance to watch the pulmonary specialist today I’m still go with guilty… they literally destroyed the defense on their whole case : )

    2. @Christopher Balsom oh yeah how you still feel
About that theory of yours after today lmao I’m actually quite curious to see what the defense is going to say to the pulmonary expert

    3. @Dante Holmes You mean to tell me that someone the prosecution brought in agrees with them? Wild.

    4. @Christopher Balsom ok fair enough how well did the defense do cross examining?? Didn’t go so well did it..

    5. @Dante Holmes No, I haven’t had a chance to watch that, yet.

I’m curious, however, as to what you perceive the defense’s “whole case” to be. Remember, the defense doesn’t need to prove anything; it merely needs to raise reasonable doubt in the minds of the jurors.

A pulmonary expert can only testify to pulmonary things which, in this case, I presume amounts to whether Floyd had a heart attack and what the cause of that heart attack might be. The answer, of course, is asphyxia. But a pulmonary expert may or may not be an expert on what caused the asphyxia, or on the affects of substances such as fentanyl, whose _primary danger_ (as confirmed by one of the state’s own witnesses) is asphyxia.

Further, even if the state can demonstrate beyond a reasonable doubt that Floyd a) died of a heart attack, b) caused by asphyxia, c) caused not by the fentanyl overdose but by use of force by Chauvin—

Still the state will need to demonstrate, again beyond a reasonable doubt, that Chauvin’s use of force was excessive (when the prosecution’s own use-of force expert has testified it may not have been, and that Chauvin may actually have been making efforts to _de-escalate_ use of force) and in violation of department policy (and the defense has raised doubts about that as well).

And finally, since both murder 2 and murder 3 require intent, the prosecution will need to show, again beyond a reasonable doubt, that Chauvin either actively and maliciously intended Floyd’s death or at the very least intentionally and unreasonably disregarded Floyd’s distress in full awareness that doing so would likely result in Floyd’s demise.

Now, maybe the prosecution does manage to prove all that. But I’m highly skeptical that a single pulmonary witness is going to achieve all that, especially given that all the defense needs to do is raise reasonable doubt, which it will likely do by calling its own expert witnesses during the defense phase next week.

So those are the general questions I’ll have in mind as I watch the testimony.

  10. Lots of people need to diversify their news sources; not gonna get much info from these cable news networks.

  11. Seven bystanders watching a man being killed by another man, and somehow this death is the fault of the seven bystanders? Come on, man!

    1. @I’m Your Huckleberry. Facts don’t care about your feelings toggaf. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

    2. @JerryGarcia POBox1065 STEVEN CROWDER HAD SOMEBODY KNEEL ON HIS NECK FOR 9:32… HE DIDN’T PASS OUT. HE DIDN’T HAVE TROUBLE BREATHING… HE DIDN’T DIE.

DMX DIDN’T HAVE ANYONE KNEELING ON HIM. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

    3. @Alex Hamilton Luckily for you, they did just that today during the cross examination of Dr. Tobin. I Have never seen so many panicked objections from the defense side.

  12. 3:17 Sure 4 armed cops are intimidated by “a mob” of 7 unarmed people. That makes sense(?) Maybe if 3 of the cops weren’t busy murdering a prone cuffed man they could have handled that “mob”.

  13. I want the prosecution to spend time on how Chauvin casually had his hands in his pockets with a smirk on his face so he clearly didn’t look threatened at all, just that he couldn’t care less.

    1. @toronto daddy your emotions could play a big part in any cases. For example, you murdered a person. Were you murder him because you feels threatened and in danger? Or were you there as an angry instigator? As an lawyer, that could make or break any case. So, please, read the cases and the law.

    2. @Rene Gomez that’s how he & lots of “conservatives” think of him. …and so many others. Indefensible.

  14. This whole thing is a waste of money. They convicted rappers with less evidence. It’s a murder nothing less. There’s video, there is witnesses, a whole picture with his knee on his neck. If the roles were reversed it would be a open and shut case. This should have been over before it started. Now I know for sure someone needs to take the blindfold off of justice. SMH

  15. Floyd says please get off my neck I’m going to die officer!! I would assume the individual who is dead knows actual what caused his own death!!!

  16. The defense is justifying his use of deadly force based on the fact that the “mob” (ie. small crowd) was getting agitated, when in reality they were becoming agitated solely because of his unnecessary use of deadly force

  17. The police man holding the so called crowd back should have a video of them in his body cam.
