  1. Josh “sporting events” Hawley. Good one, Senator. Did you see that one in Uvalde or Buffalo recently? Almost like a sport, isn’t it? Where is your mind? Do you have a conscience?

    1. @Mark Warren oh christ, here we go with that worn out, same old same old, cliche “wake up” acting like you are so much more aware of whats going on in the world than anyone else… HEY EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION WE HAVE AN INTERNET EXPERT ON EVERY SUBJECT IN THE WORLD, HE (she?) KNOWS SO MUCH MORE THAN ALL US POOR LITTLE “ASLEEP PEOPLE” yawn

    2. @Bukky-O the police are specificly trained to handle active shooters, trained to go in, just as they are supposed to go into a burning building if there is someone in there …to save lives, that’s their job, its what we pay them for…. there is only one reason that they didn’t do it. pure cowardice. Its not that he was armed with an assault rife, so were the police, you can see them with assault guns outside the school. you can’t train a coward to do the job, no matter what kind of gun the attacker has, a coward wont confront him

  2. These weapons were designed specifically to kill humans and are remarkablely efficient . Other weapons designed for hunting are more efficient at hunting animals. I am a Marine armorer ( gunsmith) there are no need for weapons designed to kill humans to replace more efficient hunting weapons. True hunters choose the most effective tools for their sport.

    1. @Theia The bar to be a marine current year is a lot lower than the past. So I am sure he is a marine.

    2. @logan solares oh look, another keyboard warrior who probably had to look up the definition of POG.

    3. @Shifty McGee462 yep you know it bud operation key stroke. Many good men got arthritis 😂

  3. There are single shot rifles that are just as good at killing varmints. That’s just a stupid reason. What do these varmint hunts look like? Do they just spray and pray that they hit there target…and technically the second amendment refers to a well trained militia. So unless these people are part of the reserve or standing military, I’m pretty sure the second amendment doesn’t actually apply to them. It’s only a single sentence long and people have still managed to misinterpret it for there own nefarious reasons. Stupid, just plain stupid.

    1. Patrick Fair believes the bill of rights is a list of individual rights and limits on government, except #2. That one formed a government agency you have to join to have a gun. Can you imagine being dumb enough to believe that?

    2. It dont say you have a right to a car. So give up your car to stop drunk driving. Gonna get real safe around here riding horses with only muskets . Gotta give up our tools so drunks and mental cases can roam free unable to do harm. Turn in the cars. Bicycles or horses take your pick. Cant have cars parked all over a drunk might use his car to kill someone. Im sick of turning on the TV and seeing cops and kids killed by alcoholics. Who needs a car that goes 60 mph. You can still get to work on a horse or bicycle. Its 2022 for christ sake and we still have drunk driving. Its the cars . You think your car makes you look macho?
ANY POLITICIAN THAT DONT AGREE TO MAKE ALL CARS ONLY GO 10 MPH MUST BE VOTED OUT.

    3. There are 30,000 gun related deaths per year by firearms, and this number is not disputed. U.S. population 324,059,091 as of Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Do the math: 0.00925% of the population dies from gun related actions each year. Statistically speaking, this is insignificant! What is never told, however, is a breakdown of those 30,000 deaths, to put them in perspective as compared to other causes of death:
      • 65% of those deaths are by suicide which would never be prevented by gun laws
      • 15% are by law enforcement in the line of duty and justified
      • 17% are through criminal activity, gang and drug related or mentally ill persons – gun violence
      • 3% are accidental discharge deaths
So technically, “gun violence” is not 30,000 annually, but drops to 5,100. Still too many? Well, first, how are those deaths spanned across the nation?
      • 480 homicides (9.4%) were in Chicago, no NRA members were involved
      • 344 homicides (6.7%) were in Baltimore, no NRA members were involved
      • 333 homicides (6.5%) were in Detroit, no NRA members were involved
      • 119 homicides (2.3%) were in Washington D.C., no NRA members were involved
So basically, 25% of all gun crime happens in just 4 cities. All 4 of those cities have strict gun laws, so it is not the lack of law that is the root cause. Almost all the criminals and killers were left wing, liberals that voted for Biden.
This basically leaves 3,825 for the entire rest of the nation, or about 75 deaths per state. That is an average because some States have much higher rates than others. For example, California had 1,169 and Alabama had 1.
Now, who has the strictest gun laws by far? California, of course, but understand, so it is not guns causing this. It is a crime rate spawned by the number of criminal persons residing in those cities and states. So if all cities and states are not created equally, then there must be something other than the tool causing the gun deaths.
Are 5,100 deaths per year horrific? How about in comparison to other deaths? All death is sad and especially so when it is in the commission of a crime but that is the nature of crime. Robbery, death, rape, assault all is done by criminals and thinking that criminals will obey laws is ludicrous. That’s why they are criminals.
But what about other deaths each year?
      • 40,000+ die from a drug overdose–THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT!
      • 36,000 people die per year from the flu, far exceeding the criminal gun deaths
      • 34,000 people die per year in traffic fatalities(exceeding gun deaths even if you include suicide)
      Now it gets good:
      • 200,000+ people die each year (and growing) from preventable medical errors. You are safer in Chicago than when you are in a hospital!
      • 710,000 people die per year from heart disease. It’s time to stop the double cheeseburgers! So what is the point? If Biden and the anti-gun movement focused their attention on heart disease, even a 10% decrease in cardiac deaths would save twice the number of lives annually of all gun-related deaths (including suicide, law enforcement, etc.). A 10% reduction in medical errors would be 66% of the total gun deaths or 4 times the number of criminal homicides……Simple, easily preventable 10% reductions!
So you have to ask yourself, in the grand scheme of things, why the focus on guns? It’s pretty simple.:
Taking away guns gives control to governments.
The founders of this nation knew that regardless of the form of government, those in power may become corrupt and seek to rule as the British did by trying to disarm the populace of the colonies. It is not difficult to understand that a disarmed populace is a controlled populace.

  4. You have to be 25 to rent a car. But only 18 to buy a high powered rifle. It’s not about taking away guns from people, it’s just being smarter with a vary obvious problem.

    1. @Bryan Everett like I said I know ppl who hunt. They have said because the AR-15 would basically destroy the animals tear it apart which makes the meat uneatable. If the AR-15 was just some simple gun then why is it causing so much damage. The fact that u don’t want to bring up the fact that the AR-15 is the common link n most mass shooting says a lot. Plus if it is harmless like u said and hunting rifles cause more damage then raise the age limit to 21. Make background checks ok. Treat it like u would treat the a simple pistol which u have to b 21 and get a background check for. Since it just a simple harmless gun treat it like the rest of the guns stop making it readily available to young boys who want to harm as many ppl as they can

    2. @Audrey Edwards it’s not used in most mass shootings. It’s used in most mass shootings that get heavy media coverage. Handguns are used in most mass shootings.

  5. “A well regulated militia”, amazing how these “lawmakers” just breeze past the first part of the amendment when it means money for them.

    1. Must take it into context, and read all supreme court rulings on this subject.

A well regulated militia was the people not a standing army. At the time many writings exist that indicate the militia was able bodied people of age 18 and over, they must provide their own weapons to be in the kilitia. Gov did not provide weapons. OMG, they actually kept weapons of war at home!!

    2. This refers to what we call today the National Guard.
At the time the U.S. had no standing army.

    3. Ask Ukraine or Taiwan who the Militia is…they will set you all straight. All able-bodied people willing to fight for the security of their state. If these countries would of had a 2nd amendment they would of been able to muster their militia 100x as fast.

  6. Ugh. I don’t think most people want to keep “law abiding citizens” from owning guns, they just want to figure out how to keep the ones who aren’t from having them. If you’re law abiding, what’s the problem with getting a background check, or get training, or a license, or wait a few days?
These same people are the ones who say “what’s so bad about requiring ID to vote?” If you can create hurdles for someone to exercise that constitutional right, then a few hurdles for gun ownership shouldn’t be such a problem, right?

    2. @Piper P i agree with everything you said. Unfortunately you are wasting your time talking facts and logic with liberals. They are emotional and mental juveniles.

    3. You literally just mentioned every law that is already being held. Dude??? Really!! You think legal ppl just get guns because they want one?

  7. As a 65 yr old from the UK who has probably seen a couple of guns in the whole of his life and maybe heard gunshot once on a farm. The question should be: Why do YOU need a gun at all. If the answer is to protect myself against all the other people with guns, “point made” get rid of them and the carnage will stop.

    1. @Garand Chan how does one know that a rapist won’t just take that gun and kill her, so now she was raped AND murdered.

Is it a 100% guarantee that they will, not only recognize the situation, have the calmness and clarity for maneuvering into her purse or wherever she is carrying it, pull it out, aim (all while having complete control of her emotions) and she will miraculously be saved? Two things will happen. Either she pulls that trigger right away, or she hesitates to give someone the chance to escape with their life.

Well, if she pulls the trigger and that person dies after not even trying to attack her, she has murdered an innocent man. Just because a woman is afraid that she might be raped, doesn’t give her the right to shoot.

And if she hesitates to give that option for the potential rapist to leave, she has a much greater chance of getting both raped and murdered after he rips it away from her. Now he can use his new gun on his next victim if she gets out of line.

You can easily scare off a dude who has no intent but happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and happen to be going in the same direction as someone else.

    2. @Mdlclassguy Mdlclassguy because people still get killed by knives and must be stopped. However in an attack far less people are killed by a knife than someone with a gun.

  8. This is the biggest load of crap excuses I have ever heard. The only reason to own a semi automatic weapon is to hunt people or destroy property. You do not hunt with these. If you shoot a prairie dog with one of these there will be nothing left of the prairie dog. If you are so sick that demolishing a prairie dog gets you off enough to pay for the ammo to do this then you have no business owning any weapon. I worked as an on site scale operator and nightwatchman out in the middle of the desert. Every weekend drunks, their kids and dogs would come to our gravel pit and blow the windows out of our heavy equipment while their kids were crawling all over the equipment the drunks were firing at. Semi automatic automatic weapons do not belong in the hands of civilians period. End of freaking discussion.

    1. sorry, You are just repeating things that you like the sound of… If you fire a semi auto weapon ONE bullet comes out. Semi auto means one bullet comes out each time you fore. You are thinking of fully automatic, which is only available to military

  9. Ok buuut no one is saying they are try to take away their 2nd Amendment rights. We are saying we need stricter gun control laws. From the people who would abuse the 2nd Amendment. People who have a criminal background, not mentally all there etc. I’m not seeing what’s the problem.

  10. “Why do people need to have an AR-15? Because I/we need to be re-elected and keep my job”

Imagine if any one of those officials had the nuts to answer honestly?

  11. If it’s “tougher” Gun Laws that are desired instead of “stricter” or “more stringent” ones, an easy Legislative Fix would be leaving the current Laws in place but changing Sentencing Guidelines or pass a new one to apply a 10-20+ year Sentencing Enhancement when Firearms are the Instrument(s) used in Crimes against Persons or Property.

  12. In the US constitution, does it not say that everyone has the right to “Life, liberty and the persuit of happiness”??? Some how that is overlooked for the victims.

  13. “Why isnt it good enough to say…”, because that is subjective. If law is determined by an individual’s subjective judgment, there is no law. That’s enough for me to disqualify Kavanaugh as a judge seeing he lacks the wisdom necessary to understand why law even exists. LAw without statute is just authority by maximum strength.

  14. I understand why some people want to have their AR-15’s. However, some people are willing to hurt innocent people with these weapons for a selfish or crazy reason! Raising the age limit on buying and owning these weapons will help keep people safe.

  15. The Supreme Court’s interpretation of the Constitution regarding marriage is that it is a fundamental right of all Americans. Every state requires a marriage license. Guns can and do kill people. That is their purpose. Handgun and rifle purchases must in all circumstances including private sales require a background check, license and waiting period. PERIOD!

  16. I am a former Army qualified expert marksman and an avid hunter. I own 2 12 ga. pumps, a 20 ga. over/under, a lever action 30/30, and a .22 pump. I keep rounds in the rifles and 00 3″ mag’s in my 20“ 12ga.
I am supremely confident of my ability to protect myself and family with these hunting guns.
I think there ought to be a general licensing requirements that gives people 21+ authorization to buy or carry any pistol or semiautomatic of any kind. This would not be a “gun registry”. It would be just like a driver’s license that would certify the person for any of the guns requiring a “User Permit”. But if you drive recklessly; you MAY be ticketed, and your vehicle impounded. Don’t worry too much. Cop’s hate doing the paperwork involved in confiscating guns. LOL.
Owning and shooting guns is really fun. Americans are obsessed with speed and power, I know. But the tactical (shmacktical) Bubba/Prepper/ wanna-be-in-the-military types should not be wearing that military gear, and carrying that scary looking, might-go-full-auto-rifle in public spaces.
An aweful lot of these guys were military or law enforcement, rejects. I don’t like being around them. No one wants them around. Because, almost all of them are Beta men/women with no sense or constitution.
They believe they are powerless. That begets fear, that begets cowardice. They are always feeling like they have been backed into a corner. And flocking together gives them safety in numbers. Most of them are scared all of the time. And they are ARMED.
The problem is, the gun doesn’t quiet the fear. Just look at Kyle Rittenhouse’ behavior and actions. He made himself a target. And he was running his mouth. I could actually see that he was the only one at the scene that really looked and acted afraid. The second he realized he was alone; he went on high alert. His head was on a swivel. He raised the barrel of his gun and started pointing it all around…
He is a very dangerous young man. Because, he is still always afraid. He is holding a grudge. I think there is a good chance that he will kill more people.
I don’t think anyone is coming for your guns. And criminals will still be able to get them, blah, blah, blah…

  17. The question should be a “why people don’t need one”? After all the defunding in the police and creating social unrest the woke mob.

  18. Having a gun was a way of being safe and not killed.
The people were the military and knew how to shoot.
Today the professional military are ready and fully aimed.
Today the children are the target, not the invading foreign military.
