“We are the envy of the world for how we’ve handled this virus” – Donald Trump, July 17th

    1. @FREEDOM FORCE trump is peddling Bill Gates endorsed vaccines 💉😂 🤣😂 🤣 wwgdumbwgall

  2. Do any of these people even ride on a regular basis? – also, is there anyone actually inforcing the mask policy?

    1. I live in Brooklyn. Yes, most people all wear masks. We learned our lesson and went through the nightmare. And yes, I’ve seen lots of “celebs” take the subways. They often just blend in with everyone else. I leave them alone and respect their privacy.

    2. @howdareyou41 At least in Manhattan everyone from world famous “A” list Celebrities to Millionaire Businesspeople before the pandemic would regularly ride the NYC subways. Not sure about now here in August of ’20 post 1st lockdown. While this Times Reporter did a good job summarizing the current NY subway system, there was 1 important bit of information missing.

Ridership is still very high in the Non Manhattan stations in the out skirts of the city. Especially those subway lines that serve poorer neighborhoods in the Bronx and Brooklyn. Even during the lockdown in April and May, the local NYC news stations did show near Standing room crowding in Non Manhattan stops. Just had to correct that.

    3. @Twnz Tv Maybe the riders are not getting sick. However I read in the Chicago Sun Times and Tribune on how a few CTA Bus Drivers did get sick and even died during the first wave in March and April. Just saying.

Ps off topic. I was shocked that the CTA still had almost regular weekday service on the subways and buses during the 1st wave? In NYC the MTA reduced the subways to I think an expanded Weekend schedule. The NY MTA only in late June restored regular weekday service.

    4. News Flash>>> Joe already lost by proclaiming” I will go down as the most progressive president in history”. And if  that’s not enough President Trump just received the endorsement of Law enforcement which he didn’t even have or need in 2016. And if that still doesn’t do it then Joe will be hammered in the debates if he shows up. And if he doesn’t show then people will know he’s to weak and feeble to defend what he’s been told to believe.  Either way Joe loses. Democrats are in full panic mode and using the same old race card mixed with the new phobe
Card which is hilarious being Biden is picking his VP based on race & gender which is racist & discriminatory in itself.

    1. Truth 90 …..yeah, but does that refer to Democrat crowds or GOP crowds?…..come on Dr Fausti, we deserve an answer…..

  3. If they are looking at data from overseas,
    * There is way more coronavirus in the US
    * We have an anti-mask problem
    * I live in the Bay Area, and there is no way I trust the ventilation system on our dilapidated trains
Until these problems are fixed, I am going to use alternatives to let people with no other choice ride with as much distancing as possible.

    1. speaking of selfish and stupid, did you report any business owners for not wearing masks to the police? if you did, Hitler would be proud of you.

    2. Adam Parisi If I am outside in the heat and no one is close, I remove my mask.

If I am amongst people, I have my mask on.

    3. Adam Parisi I wouldn’t report business owners or anyone for not wearing a mask. Reporting them is not going to work. But I would say something to them privately.

    4. @Keith Mc I just don’t get it……everyone was okay with …..”no shoes, no shirt no service”……BUT DON’T TELL ME TO WEAR A MASK??……..

  4. All four countries with the highest COVID cases have right-wing, nationalistic, leaders who espouse anti-science ideas.

    1. @David Gainey The United States is not a liberal disaster. It’s a Trump disaster. That’s a fact.

    2. Ver Coda money? Most countries are not giving free money for dying and assigning the virus. Hospitals are in business to make money.

  5. Workers in New York will be excited to see Joe when he starts riding the subway to the studio tomorrow 😀

  6. The USA should have been the LEADER on handling the virus…instead we have total ignorance, destruction, deflection, denial……and worst of all SELFISH……ALL ABOUT ME ME ME ME

    1. White Jesus Your country was NEVER going to lead the world about Covid because you don’t have health care for your own people. You could have though, you WERE on your way until Trump took over.

    2. @Janice Gullett I agree with you…it is because of corrupt capitalist greed in the health industry. Those groups have huge influence over our politicians because of our campagn donation procedures.

  7. I have no problem wearing a mask when I am around people. Masks protect me from other people, and other people from me.

  8. No question..I am so proud to be under Governor Cuomo’s leadership. We New Yorkers need to applaud his leadership …subway system is just one area he was instrumental in making safe for us.

  9. It’s like if someone reported that smoking cigarettes was not quite as dangerous as we once thought. I’m still not going to smoke cigarettes.

  10. That is a better air exchange rate than on an airplane which is about a five minute interval. I’m impressed.

  11. I’ve been to Asia several times over the years (before COVID).
When service is densely populated, it was common for people to wear masks.
This may be another reason that their cases and death rates are lower than in the US.

  12. Having grown up in New York City, I can’t believe that subway cars are anything but reservoirs of disease.

  13. Thankfully i live in denmark (European Union) and the citizens here (like almost across europe and parts of asia) wear MASKS from the beginning! I can´t understand the stupid people who say: MASKS WILL TAKE AWAY MY PERSONAL FREEDOM”….i know it´s not comfortable but with a mask i can protect myself and the people around me! (100% safety is not a thing of course)
Unfortunately a greedy and reckless egomaniac rules the USA and with such a role model it´s no wonder that things went wrong from the start!
I truely hope people return to sanity in november and do the right thing, good luck folks, stay healthy, greetings from denmark
