It’s simple…it’s because no matter the answer, it’s bad for him. The earlier he claims he caught COVID just so he can be “cleared” to do debates & more super spreader rallies, the more people he admits to knowingly infecting during the lead-up to the first debate. The later he claims to have caught COVID to avoid those accusations, the longer he sidelines himself for future events.

Because he’s still testing positive.
It’s pretty obvious Trumps desperate last resort to get rid of the threat of Biden was to go to that debate knowing he had Covid. They refuse to answer questions about the last time Trump tested negative because of potential future legal implications. Would explain why Trump acted the way he did as far as aimlessly interrupting and yelling in Biden’s direction the entire night..
Trump knew he was contagious when he went to debate with Biden.
