With 100,000 Deaths From Coronavirus, What Have We Learned About Preventing More? | MSNBC 1

In just under 13 weeks, 100,000 people have died from COVID-19 in the U.S. Those lost were veterans, grocery clerks, nurses, students, musicians, activists, and so much more. And yet, this is not an endpoint. We are likely to have tens of thousands more deaths. As we grieve, what have we learned about preventing or at least reducing them? Aired on 5/27/2020.

What’s been learned is to not elect a president who would rather play golf than work to save lives.

Only a few more months of this disaster. Then America will take care of the root cause for this orange disease and disaster, THE DEPLORABLES, once and for all. SOON!!!

Imagine how the doctors and nurses will never be the same after seeing so much death..

    • @Charles Anthony okay, so now you pivoted from just alcohol and calling me a child to other things like [insert imagination here]. Hard to keep track of your original argument since we’re going off the rails now (and while SOBER might I add).

@poopsock : I’m going to argue with a guy, who has your username. Also, Zoomers are in their early twenties, but whatever you say, I guess everyone is a kid unless proven otherwise. Look at your comment. You definitely act like a child.

    • @Charles Anthony you are going to argue with me? Cool! I am a poopsock! Hear me ROAR!
Not sure what the zoomer thing means. I may be too old to understand these hip new post-millennial words since I’m suffering through my 30s. Now that we’re being all open about personal attacks instead of focusing on the substance of a conversation, I just lost all fscks in this conversation so I give it a 9/11 because it’s suspicious and requires further investigation. Hey, does this SpaceX rocket look right or should we pivot some more?

@ღSwnsasyღ _ You do realize loved ones die for various reasons every day right? You should buck up honey, when you get older you will have to deal with the death of family and friends. Did someone never explain death to you? Do you still think your favorite pet went to live on a farm? Grow up!!! It doesn’t get easier.

    • DARK MATTER | May 28, 2020 at 7:38 PM | Reply

Bemused One- What exactly are you referring to? *DEATH* is *DEATH.* No matter how you, or someone dies. Gore, or not. There’s no such thing as a “beautiful” death, or corpse.

  3. now i know its inevitable that there will be second wave.

    • @Pythagoras 1234 I did look it up and no country reportet a CFR of 0.1%, even Germany with one of the best responses in the world reportet 0.15% and most countrys are significantly higher.
Also tRump-16 controls the CDC enough to dumb down their recommendation from “You HAVE to do this” to his beloved “Do whatever you want” – which never happened before, but suddenly during a pandemic? Yeah sure. Honestly, anything Donnie touches looses credibility.

    • Um, total recoverys are 490,000, and there hasn’t been a spike yet, we just reached 100k deaths after ALL this time

Trump did not cause this pandemic nor the deaths attributed to this virus. I learned I need to take care of myself and be responsible for my actions. If we make this a political issue we will not move forward because there is always the opportunity to point the finger at the other side. Trump has done a good job considering all points. I will be voting for him not because I agree with everything he does or says, but because he gets things done. I don’t trust Biden and I don’t think he can do a better job.

Our “leaders” have learned they can continually lie to a certain group in our country and still be accepted – they just keep seeing how awful they can go.
Fortunately, this Administration will be gone soon – a case for the History books on when America lost it’s way.
Voting for positive change in the USA . . . Voting BLUE across the board in 2020.

@Kevin Willis your wrong bud. When your deal with politicians period who hardly ever get the whole truth in general. The difference is that the media is working with the Democrats to lie and manipulate the “one group”. Impeachment failed, Meuller failed, when the carona first started appearing the Democrats and fake news barely covered it (FOX covered it more lolol) but as soon as the got a hold of it they weaponized nthe narritive to make the president look bad. Trump did not take it seriously until WHO declared it a pandemic, and that is how it should have been but look were that got us….

@Firefly I was sick in February for a month and a half. Went to ER. And they told me it was bronchitis and did nothing. Then went to my Doctor and he gave me some Cough Syrup and Antibiotic and then stayed in for some. But I felt like I had the virus.

    • @Melvin Mack Well good thing, you must be strong on the inside. Glad it wasnt the covid virus. I have friends that were sick as a dog last summer and they swear that it felt like it. They are all fine now. Ya never know. At least you went in to be sure. Most people survive this covid thing but apparently it can take the older and the weakened people out. The negative news has people freaked out… but the news has always been negative. Ever since Walter Cronkite stopped reporting the news.

Tise Ignite It was not only anonymous but we also have to remember that WikiLeaks received a great deal of information from DNC staffers and one top Democrat official who was very upset with the way the DNC handled Bernie. WikiLeaks was our hero when they exposed the Bush/Chaney Secret prisons and torture. We loved WikiLeaks then, they were our heroes. WikiLeaks has never lied, they research their documents very well before being published. We loved WikiLeaks but suddenly they began to air our dirty DNC laundry and we tried to tie WikiLeaks to the Russians. Several of our DNC staff members were fired. One was murdered in DC on his way home and it was ruled as a robbery gone bad. WikiLeaks posted a 20 K reward for the apprehension and conviction of his murderer. Many suspected this young man who is the person who leaked the DNC information to wiki leaks. So we got an inside look at how the DNC operates and it was not pretty. And now we have Joe Biden is our candidate.

    • powrslave73757 | May 28, 2020 at 2:22 PM | Reply

Javier Jimenez The fact is if someone dies when they have covid and die of something else, it’s labeled a covid death. Get your facts straight.

    • @Javier Jimenez And we’re heading into a second wave with seemingly everyone reopening too early.

    • @Javier Jimenez dont believe the media. The numbers are waaaaayyy off. The virus is real but the media made it worse. the cdc even tried to do an honest count and it was under 1%.

    • @powrslave73757 You are confused. Or just too addicted to conspiracy theories. See, when someone is shot and bleeds out, they don’t die of blood loss, do they? Technically, sure, they died because the blood had left their body, but it’s listed as murder because someone had shot them, leading to them losing their blood. It’s the same kind of thing with covid. Technically, yes, some covid patients may die of a heart attack or something like that, but covid has been shown to cause stuff like that, and so they had a heart attack probably because of covid. That’s why their deaths are listed as from coronavirus complications, not “a heart attack”. Do some real research with credible sources. If you find any actual evidence of that, by all means present it, but you probably won’t find much of any evidence, apart from the kind of thing that I just highlighted.

What I’ve learned is that there’s two kinds of people in the world:

1: Those who do stupid things.

2: Those who blame everyone but #1.

That doesnt make any sense. If im not doing stupid things but im surrounded by people who are, why should i blame myself? Theyre the ones doing stupid things, they deserve the blame.
