Maybe, but really he had no right to be so petty.
I am 6’3″ and it doesn’t bother me when someone tilts their seat back.

    2. @Your Worst Nightmare – Facts Yeah, who knows? Maybe he was overweight, trying to do something where he needed the space, or was just having a bad day. She could see that his seat didn’t recline…I’d say there was more to it than her aw shucks version. Yes, he was being childish with the continuous smacking on her seat but…damn, she sat through the whole thing! He was definitely behaving like a jerk but I’ve got zero sympathy for her knowing he’s annoyed yet laid back for the whole time. Who’s the more simple of the two? Lol

You can see he is skinny guy.
      It is 2 inches.
I agree someone should of turned around and threatened him.

    1. Zio Oren I don’t agree here with suing but how about when that corporation knowingly pumps out carcinogens and dumps whatever they want in your drinking water?

  1. When rats are placed too close together in a cage they become aggressive to the point they bite & attack each other. Rats can teach us so much!

  2. people are debating which persons fault it is but it’s actually the airlines fault. they’re the ones who designed it to be that way and they’re the ones for are responsible for this

    1. @I Love You
How about the guy is acting like a child.
Is it against the law to tilt your seat?

    2. @Your Worst Nightmare – Facts Do you know if he asked her politely to not lean the chair back so far? Or did he talk to an attendant?

    1. Because Republic essentially was acting as an accessory to criminal assault? Sorry if you don’t find that newsworthy.

  3. Looked to me like two passive-aggressive personalities who the flight waitress had no clue about how to diffuse. Everyone was culpable along with the media from each spectrum and in between who has pointed a finger at just one of the three people problems, but fail to call-out the carrier who won’t compensate for those with long legs.

  4. He’s tapping the chair to annoy you. The way she’s talking I’m surprised she didn’t shuffle out in a back brace.

    1. @* Lotusblume * Who gives a fuk. That woman paid for her seat just like he did. Not her problem. The fuk’n coward wouldn’t do that to a man.

    2. @Voice of Reasoning Elliott The fact is she was assaulted. I do not like soft people myself, but this is the case of an immature grown adult using unwanted physical force on a stranger intentionally.

    3. @papadukes523 exactly. I’d like to see how anyone defending this dude would react if he just started pushing them around. Probably not say “oh I was being rude”.

    4. @papadukes523 if I was him, I would have thought she was rude and not said a word, like I have done 100+ times.
If I was her, I would have looked behind me before reclining and made a decision if reclining would make the person behind me uncomfortable. I would have ultimately made the decision not to recline before he ever had to ask. Just be better people.

    5. @Jonathan Benitez Yes you are correct. This coward seen a defenseless woman and took advantage of her. And whats up with the airline siding with this aggressor . Their greed is the real reason this happened.

  5. I was having a minor allergic reaction on a flight from the Caribbean back to Europe, the woman infront reclined her chair basically in my face, there wasnt even a handpan between us. I was already struggling with my physical conditions but she didnt care. Spent the rest of the flight with my knees up forcing her to sit up so I had room to breathe. Worst 9hrs on a plane, we had to declare a medical emergency on landing

    1. John Doe v. Wendi Williams, 410 U.S. 113 (2020), was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States protects a woman’s liberty to recline on an airplane

  6. What you could have done instead is to tell him to stop. It is hard to imagine that if you insisted, the flight attendants would just ignore you. I think having a video to post on your social media platform was exactly your intention.

    1. Did you not listen, she did ask him to stop, he got belligerent. She asked the flight attendant, who threatened her. She would be much happier if she had never been assaulted like this.

  7. So she reclines her seat to give herself more room and comfort which results in less room and comfort for the passenger behind her…..
Not sure I would have continuously rocked her seat however I would have been pretty annoyed.
