Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward, whose dogged pursuit of the Watergate story was part of the journalistic and legal process that led to Nixon's resignation joins 'The Beat' for the first time on the eve of Bob Mueller's historic testimony. Woodward calls the Mueller hearing 'democracy' at work, and the report 'a very important presentation of findings about presidential behavior.' Woodward says Mueller didn’t find the 'evidence that we saw in Watergate' and not finding 'some

  1. trump also repeatedly said he does not consider russian military helping his campaign as meddling
he also likes chinese spies apparently long as they pay fee’s at his clubs= traitor for hire

    1. GreensOplenty : Noticed how, “Quiet,” the Trump Trolls have been? They’re all preparing to Troll Bomb Mueller’s testimony, and ALL reporting on it. Putin has cancelled ALL Leave in St Petersburg. Watch and see

  2. This is crap. We have the Don Jr. emails that show that that the Trump people were traitors – we never had that with Nixon!

  3. So just so were clear everybody on this thread that supports trump is teaching their kids to tell other kids of color to go back where they came…you all support that racism and division in our country right…Because that’s the biggest definition of unamerican I have ever seen…we can do better and you all should be ashamed…stay sleep trumpets…

    1. I’m not going to read ALL the comments, but from what I’m seeing people want Trump and his family in a cell ASAP. Trump is an empty vessel – he’ll say whatever he thinks will work with his base and I don’t see that changing. Don’t rely on Mueller or Epstein, ignore the polls and *vote* when it matters – everything else is just commentary when we know the (majority of) Republicans are spineless accomplices, aiding and abetting Trump’s ongoing criminality. The ‘division’ you mention is already there, and the people chanting ‘Send her back !’ wont magically disappear when they drag Trump, kicking and screaming, from the Oval Office. As Steve Bannon told a reporter, ‘Trump will not go classy’.

Interesting times ahead for the US and the world.

    2. Jerrin Sykes : Noticed how, “Quiet,” the Trump Trolls have been? They’re all preparing to Troll Bomb Mueller’s testimony, and ALL reporting on it. Putin has cancelled ALL Leave in St Petersburg. Watch and see

    3. What was fantastic, were the ‘Many’ supporters for Illha Omar that were waiting at the Minnesota airport. All the cheers, the love, the welcome home chants, and the signs put a big smile on her face. As Congresswoman Omar walked through the gate at the airport, It sure made me wish she were congresswoman and I were a Minnesotan, at least for that moment.

  4. *Oh, if only we had a Barry Goldwater today…. Instead we have McConnell and Barr – what a difference…*

  5. If there weren’t some really damning evidence against Trump that Mueller might reveal, Barr would not be trying to prevent him from answering any question the Democrats will ask him. Trump is guilty of treason , lying , obstructing and many other crimes. Proving it is another matter. Hopefully something will be revealed that will be the end of the Trumps presidency.

    1. John LaRouche if Mueller is a hero!than he should not be afraid of Barr it’s Barr who is the one who should be afraid!! Mr Mueller should tell the American people the truth, and not be silenced by Barr or the president with threats.

    2. @Barbara Bretti Yes you’re right about that. I hope that the Democrats ask Mueller the right questions and that he answers them without considering what Barr or anyone else might do.

  6. Why’s it so difficult to not see a parallel between a bribe that conceals criminal activity and a NDA that does the same?

    1. I think he’s suffering under the attempt to prove the cases are exactly alike, rather than realizing it has be decades since Nixon, and no two cases are ever exactly alike. There are parallels, but these are not identical cases.

    2. PS Wright : fine but I wasn’t really thinking of the parallel between the cases as much as the principle.

  7. Trump would be jail today like his pals Manafort, Cohen, etc. were it not for DOJ rule saying you can’t indict a sitting president. Trump is a CRIMINAL

    1. Truth91 : Watch what happens, from the moment Mueller opens his mouth to speak? Have you noticed how, “quiet,” the Trump Troll Army are, right now? That’s because they’re all using their official holidays up. When Mueller speaks, we will see the BIGGEST outpouring of Trump Trollery in the history of the internet. I promise you. Watch and see

    2. That rule allows for a criminal to inhabit the WH without consequences. How cool is that? Very uncool.

    3. Truth91 🤓ITS IN THE REPORT. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😜Trump is guilty of Obstruction. PERIOD.

  8. Trump will NEVER willingly resign because:
    1. He knows that New York will be waiting for him with indictments and handcuffs. And, if not New York, then Maryland, California, Virginia, Florida …
    2. His ego won’t let him because it will confirm what he and most of the world already know: He’s a vile piece of human filth. Oh yes … and that he has a teeny tiny chubby nubbin. And it’s orange too.

    1. Yep, resigning will mean admitting some wrongdoings, he’s pathologically incapable of that.

But he’s interesting in a way, because he always seems to find a way to reflect his own doings on to others. Part of his brain knows very well what he’s doing, but his conscious part will deny it. But it still comes out in two ways: 1. He’s blaming others for the exact same things he’s guilty of. 2. When he talks about himself, he says the exact opposite of what he means when he’s trying to deflect blame of some kind. So for example when he say’s he knows more about technology than anyone, he feels he knows less about technology than anyone else. Or more serious, when he says he’s the least racist person you’ve met, he feels like he’s the most racist person you’ve met (doesn’t have to be objectively true, it’s what he believes deep down while denying it consciously)

When you listen to him in that way, you’ll realize it all makes sense and you can learn a lot about him.

  9. If there was no conspiracy then why does Trump act so suspiciously? I don’t buy it. He meets with Putin with only an interpreter and Mueller couldn’t interview him. Mueller also didn’t look at his tax returns.

    1. @Trond Zaphirax DOJ just announced that that investigation has been closed, with no further charges. Maybe because he actually didn’t commit tax fraud by writing off Cohen’s reimbursement as “legal fees”, or maybe because Barr quashed it. The NY AG is still investigating his state return.

    2. Trump has committed lots of crimes in his businesses, and there’s at least one that’s still within the statutes of limitations (Trump Tower Baku). Odds are good that there are more. That’s why he drew the “red line” around his finances: he thought Mueller would find them.

    3. Ran Talbott Barr shut down the investigations. If trump is innocent why does Barr keep covering for him?

  10. 8:51 Trump wasn’t caught on tape because, quite simply, he’s been a career fraudster all his life and is aware of the necessity of hiding his tracks.

    1. Trump was caught on tape recordings related to hush money payments with Michael Cohen proving he LIED about knowledge of the Stormy Daniels $130K payments (Campaign finance violations). All professional criminals eventually get caught.

  11. “Our investigation found multiple acts by the President that were capable of exerting undue influence over law enforcement investigations, including Russian-interference/obstruction investigations,”
“The incidents were often carried out through one-on-one meetings in which the President sought to use his official power outside of usual channels.

  12. Yogi Barr is trying everything to protect trump. Good thing trump didn’t serve in the military.
Who would want to be in a fox hole with a runner.

  13. The difference between Nixon and Trump, Nixon didn’t have a group of Billionaires willing to smash any (R) that doesnt back Pres.

    1. The difference is we had people in Congress and the Senate who were about doing the job. And as you said now we got people who will do anything for money and power, though they already have that.

  14. The US HAS a Warped Issue of what is ILLEGAL? When did that Change? Nixon. Clinton? It sure doesn’t apply to Normal Citizens. So much for Truth and Justice……..You Don’t have anything to Boast about ANYMORE.

  15. If they can’t conclude the Trump campaign colluded or conspired with the Russians one can certainly conclude the Trump campaign had intercourse with the Russians. Double entendre and all.

  16. The only difference between Nixon and Trump is that Nixon conducted his corrupt activities in secret but Trump does them right out in the open.  Also, we now have State TV (Fox News).

  17. “It is certain, in any case, that ignorance, allied with power, is the most ferocious enemy justice can have.” — James Baldwin
