    1. Trump has always been the enemy of the people, we all just thought it would be funny to put a moron in office since everything else we did hasn’t fixed our government. we need to just get rid or the corrupt people and put them on trial. Then Give a group of people in there that answer to the people and make things totally transparent.

    2. Butch L – Can you explain the ineptitude of Liberal state and local leaders who have been in office years before Trump was ever elected?

Who did you blame your misery on before 2016??

    3. https://thefederalist.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Davidson-headshot-1.jpg It seems no great event or upheaval in our national life can pass now without the media lying to our faces about it. They lied about the Trump campaign colluding with Russia in 2016. They lied about the Mueller probe and Brett Kavanaugh and former national security adviser Mike Flynn. They lied about Trump’s phone call with the Ukrainian president and the impeachment farce that ensued. They lied about the coronavirus and the lockdowns and the White House response. And now they’re lying about the riots.

  1. Only way to stop Police violence is to kick officers out when they show violent tendenceys

    1. I completely agree, those who choose to protect the actions of those that are supposed to serve and protect instead of bringing it to light and disciplining those officer that are not fit to wear a badge are a big part of the problem . They are enabling the abusive police not the fine officers of law enforcement, but the ones who abuse their power and do not see the people around them as equals to perpetuate this cycle. I will tell you that I have experienced it I am Asian and I have an s-10 truck that I commute with and I have been pulled over many times for no other reason then the fact they thought I was Hispanic until they walked up to my window and then just let me go with some lame excuse. Now I know they do not have anything against me, but the fact that they mistake me for a different race and choose to pull me over just to let me go …tells me that there is something that is not right with us as a people.

    2. Or stop breaking the law. If you don’t break the law, you don’t come in contact with the law. You’re welcome.

    3. i I have to just say that I get pulled over often for no apparent reason other then the fact that the officers always seem to think I am Hispanic until they walk up to my vehicle then its always can I see your ID and you have a nice night. just because I have brown skin and drive an s-10 blazer which is popular in the Latino community. Now the police did not discriminate against me but I can see what is going on.

    4. sadly they have to be trained to have those anyway, the violent guys are best police officers

    1. @Montell Jackson so does this mean you gonna allow trump back in..I pray that is not how y’all’s viewing this

    2. @Yvonne Smith Is Trump in charge of policing in each state? No he is not, you realize that, right? I don’t agree with Trump on many things but Biden? He just told us that we aren’t black if we don’t vote for him. He had over 40 years to make change, nothing changed. Tell me, what has Trump done that has personally affected your life negatively? Did you enjoy saving money on your taxes this year? I did. Did your community get new jobs like mine did? What about programs for people who got out of jail and genuinely need help? we have 2 workshops for them here, so tell me….what negative actions from Trump affected you?

  2. Just look abroad to western democratic countries. De-escalation is typically the first strategy to be employed. And what a surprise, theres virtually no wild west shootouts with a dozen cops rolling on the scene in a tank, spraying the area with assault rifles and certainly no daily reports of unarmed minorities being gunned down or otherwise killed by the police.

I also think a major contributor is that in certain areas of the US, basically any unstable lunatic can be a deputy and the same is probably true to quite a few academies. You got to hire the finest – and for real! Not just hand out badges and call them the finest…

    1. Thank you! In Germany police are considered your friend. When you are sixteen, out at night and missed the last bus to go home? They might drive up beside you and drive you to the next station. Your numbers plate is loose? They might have some tools for this. A homeless person seems cold in winter? They ask them if they need anything. This is my experience with police as a minority (Iranian without Head covering)

    2. There’s an urgent need for police reform. No country in the world lets armed civil servants loose on the population after such a short training like the USA. In Europe, a minimum training period of 3 years is usually mandatory There there are no such attacks by the police!

    3. Here in Europe we watch in horror as America sinks into chaos and mayhem, all because you voted for BAD people.
I left with my sons 20 years ago. I saw what was coming. I saw that there were civilised countries where healthcare and peace were rights! A long hard winter is coming to America ravaged by a virus with an economy in the toilet. More people will live AND die under the yoke of endemic racism. I fear the only way change will come is by civil war.

  3. Pod Save the People needs to post their podcasts on YouTube to share their wisdom and insight … I can’t find their podcasts

  4. Wow she is stunning.
People have a lot to say about Brits but the police here don’t carry guns. If a call is made saying a firearm is involved however the police that respond are packing. There is no perfect system but the trade off can’t be a continuation of what is happening. If guns are legal then why do police fear them so much in the hands of black people??

    1. Regular UK police do not carry guns, but I also remember those full-blown UK riots in 2011, which started off as protest against the shooting dead by police of a black Londoner…

    2. @Gopher Facts – Yes, and that is one reason why it is so rare in the UK because when it happened we made it clear we would not accept it. Do you know the statistics?
UK – 2019 = 3 citizens killed by the police in the UK and one was an armed terrorist. We have 66 million people. In 2018 = 1 citizen in the UK killed by police.
The USA has five times the population but over 1000 citizens are killed by the police every single year. There are so many they do not even create official figures to cover up the true numbers. However, the Guardian covered three months of records in 2019 and found 270 killed by police in just three months. This was a lot higher than what the police claimed was the average.
Every other developed nation has this tiny number of deaths by police each year. The USA has the same number every day of the week.
How you can attempt to compare one murder in 2011 to something happening every day in the USA I really cannot understand, but you sound like a massive part of the problem.

    3. Gopher Facts like I said. If someone calls and says they see a firearm the police that respond will be armed police. Normal constables do not carry guns. The armed police respond only to calls of specific threats. And you see them on train platforms when the threat level is high. Most police across the world that are bad it is because the power goes to their heads. Some people gravitate to certain careers to exploit. Unfortunately American police have a fear of black skin and don’t seem to train or vet new hires properly. You can’t respond with deadly force just because a black man has a gun. It is a right of all citizens. So the answer might be to remove the guns from police. Let those officers who care about the betterment of the communities they serve be the ones keeping the peace. In more high risk situations then officers should be armed. But tell me why armed police needed to respond to a call out for a fake $20? Let funds be spent training and providing better safety equipment so police analyse a situation before they rush in. Which to be fair a lot of these cops do and get it wrong.

    1. In Canada changes begin with the Justice Department (courts) and the General Attorney. These two departments are the cause of all systemic racism in Canada.
We need a public review into the roll of these two departments in promoting racial hatred among the people on this land.
These two department are run by white people who are know to have no moral conscience to do what is right before God and wo/man kind.

    2. We needed a lot of help from the French and the Natives for the last Revolution, and I am sure Mnuchin will “disappear” anything in the treasury that isn’t used against the citizens of the United States.

  5. I’ve been pooled over twice with my partner, do to his skin color. officer :where are you going,
    Me: to see my bookkeeper.
    Officer: you mean your bookie.

Flying : returning to our country.
My partner has been detained all three times by immigration, watched not questioned for a few minutes then released.

    1. Your partner? Are you insinuating that you participate in DIRT-DOGS and SCHMEG HARVEST? 😳

  6. Here’s an idea: Stop hiring people to be police officers after they’ve done ten tours of duty in a warzone until they have been fully treated for PTSD and had a psychological profile done on them to make sure that they are not psychopathic? Why not bring back police academics to teach them how to be proper officers and learn how to solve problems without using excessive force? Why not have an independent group that’s not a part of the police system to investigate officer involved incidents instead of internal affairs? Better still… Let’s just get rid of the police all together and go back to just having peace officers and the Sheriff’s deal with crimes and disputes? What real purpose do police officers serve except harass people and make situations worse?

  7. 11,000 people die a year from police shootings, that’s a big business to just try to rip away from people desperate to keep their jobs. And unlike most workers the murderers have a union protecting them.

  8. This is what you get when you employ people who has failed at everything else to join the police force. People who join the police has a deep rooted anger problem.

  9. Trump’s stupidity is clearly hurting his party, but, the whole country is paying for it and I’m voting for sure.

  10. What‘s about proper training of the police force. In Germany, e.g. the police trainees have 36 months of education including rigorous character tests. The first character test during the hiring process. If they fail they have no chance to be hired at all.

  11. Finally. After 6 or 7 nights of protest ppl starting to vocalise demands instead of only prayer. Good on you DeRay and Brittany. We need to hear you all more.

  12. We should put the control of the police department under town councils and have citizen committees be in control and also be the ones to investigate when an officer is out of line that way things are transparent and the police will be more integrated into the community. Instead of them thinking they do not answer to the law.

  13. Brittany, I hope the list has required the taking away of tasers, pepper spray and dogs by Mayors in every state.
