In a newly released comedy special, Comedian Dave Chappelle addressed the murder of George Floyd. In the socially-distant comedy special entitled “8:46,” a nod to the length of time the officers knelt on Floyd’s neck, Chappelle said “one of the hardest parts of the tape to listen to” was hearing Floyd tell “the police he couldn’t breathe.” Chappelle questioned the motive of the officers, asking if they kneeled “on a man’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds and feel like you wouldn't get the wrath of God.” (This interview is from MSNBC’s “The Beat with Ari Melber, a news show covering politics, law and culture airing nightly at 6pm ET on MSNBC. ). Aired on 6/12/2020.

    1. @Lynda Nancy Whoever a man chooses for his spouse, you should never interfere, that is way too deep too personal, his job is to protect his family, that is number one, his colour, deeds and creeds that comes second! For all his character and rhetoric interfere, but God put them together for his own reasons, let no man interfere!

    2. Megan Megan well don’t speak on pro black when clearly he doesn’t love his own enough to marry one. He has stated many times, that he would never marry a black woman. He uses the same negative black women stereotypes, to base his arguments. . If a person chooses to sink low enough and apply the same old racial stereotypes to marriage. Then thats a problem and I would rather not hear that person, preach to me about racism, that’s hypocrisy. That’s just my opinion. Dave clearly wasn’t fond of stereotypes, when his network had applied them to him, way back when. He’s loopy, if he thinks we forgot.

  1. I’ve been following Chappelle for years. He’s definitely one of the best comedians for the job of race relations liaison. He’s been talking about it for years and also about LGBTQ’s. He makes touchy subjects hilarious.

    1. Actually look up his videos He spoke about this issue.a man a head of the time. America still has not changed.

    1. God is in all of us, we the people hold the True Power to bring Justice and Equality to the world
Imagine the slaves in 1860 being told they would be free (at least a big step in the right direction)
Change seems impossible but We the People can make change happen

    2. @J Doyle: yes we are created in the likeness of God Almighty; as he said let us create man in our own image he included himself when Christ Jesus walked amongst us in the flesh GOD; does expect us to fight for truth and fight against injustice and George Floyd’s death was an injustice and it was Criminal Homicide that the police officers committed.. GOD also stated he will fight the Cause of the Afflicted and Them that Are Oppressed.. He will have Vengeance on them that Oppress his Children…

    3. Wrath of God? I’ve been waiting for something like that to happen for awhile, but it seems to me like we’ll have to manage on our own.

  2. Donald tRump is a comedians ‘Wet Dream” come true. He’s such a doofus & so easy to spoof!

    1. True zolli21.  I heard somebody talking about Trump being too obvious a target for comedians to get much use out of recently.

    1. Honestly, I think Donald Trump is a true American, unless you’re using “American” in a continental sense.  “America” and “American” get too much favorable pub. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. The United States of America is a legal entity.  “America” as it pertains to the United States proper is a cultural entity that dominates and predates the legal entity.  The culture “America” has as one of its central philosophical tenets the doctrine of White Supremacy, and this has been particularly the case since the aftermath of Bacon’s Rebellion in 1676 (look it up).  I would never dishonor a fellow Black person by calling them an “American” – even if they chose to do so themselves……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..……………………………………  I would even go so far as to encourage any person of conscience, white, Black, or whatever, to forego the appellation and identify themselves as something more befitting a person of conscience – USian, human being, eve NORTH American, whatever.  Because, “America” – the imperial dominant culture of the United States – is not just a racist culture.  It is a militarist culture and a hyper-materialist, economically exploitative culture.  It is a genocidal culture and a culture of ignorance, arrogance, paranoia and greed………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..………………………  Decent people that still call themselves “Americans” aspire to something that is not “America”; it is the veneer of high-minded values that America  uses to paper-over its true imperial nature.  These people deserve an appellation that is more reflective of these values than the culture America is.

  3. The following comment in tone of Dave Chappalle sounding and talking like a white man.
    Ahem.
“I have not been able to find this a fore mentioned Dave Chappelle Netflix special on Netflix. And I searched for it!
    Fork you, Dave!!”

  4. ….this entire country is receiving the Wrath of God ! This country has done some “dirty deeds” in the past/present, so the chickens may be coming home to roost – and Foghorn Leghorn Trump is leading the way!

    1. I believe trump is judgement on America …things will be worse. But whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Stay close to Jesus Christ

    1. Correct. The show was not meant to be funny, but it does not negate the power of comedy. The special was more like a sermon, a testimony and everything expected to hear from someone like Dave Chappelle. It wasn’t funny. It was better. It was powerful.

    2. Richard warren how is Dave not EVER funny? You must be high, may the wrath of God fall down on your lack of humor.

  5. Let’s talk about Dave calling out a host, from another network, about Hollywood using their megaphone and how Dave thinks he has been quiet and will remain quiet–all the while talking about it on a show titled for the time the officers knee was on Floyd’s neck killing him. Kind of ironic to say “I have been quiet and will remain quiet” all the while profiting (he did the show for free?) from talking about it.

    1. Are you going to cry about it, dork? He had to say something. And what he said was wonders compared to this complaint.

  6. I tried for 15 minutes trying to find this special on Netflix and couldn’t find it. I found all his OTHER stand-up specials, but not THIS one!! I even did a ‘search’……nothing!! Where is it???

  7. Police are trained to terrorize the people at academy. Will any cop be brave enough to tell the truth today?

  8. This was the first post ever on his Instagram 🤯 glad I was already following him 🙏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
