Trump went on a death-row killing spree. I’m sure he didn’t have any problem making sure that there was accountability for those crimes.
He believes that everyone should be held accountable except him and his family.
The first reason given not to impeach Trump was that he would wear impeachment as a badge of honor. That was a lie and a bit of reverse psychology.
Then there was the not so veiled threat that if impeachment proceeded, there would be violence from his supporters to those who voted for it. That didn’t prevent the impeachment in the House.
The next claim was that impeachment would cause division and prevent the country from healing, as if that mattered to them before. Mitt Romney said it best when he said the best way to begin to unite and to heal the country is to tell Trump supporters the truth: Trump lost the election and Biden won fair and square. They, of course, don’t want to do that, even though it’s lies that have divided the country.
Lindsay Graham is now saying flat out to scrap any impeachment trial in the Senate, since Trump will no longer be in office.

@AT 1984 It does not work for everyone, but I have several friends that were finally able to get healthcare insurance, and are very glad of it. The individual mandate is what helps to pay for it…all insurance is a pyramid scheme/risk pool. The more people don’t pay in when they are young and healthy, the more expensive it’s going to be. So by removing that, all tRump did was ensure it would be more expensive. The insurance companies are for-profit, and no one is going to legislate their profits. Until that happens, it’s going to be more expensive than anyone wants. But, with Obamacare, its going to be possible…something that has not been done before. My insurance is over $9000 a year, by the way, and it is not through Obamacare. It’s ludicrous.
As far as not being accepted? That was something they couldn’t get into the law, but hopefully will in the next couple of years. Just wait and see how many republicans come out against that as “socialism,” “lack of choice,” or some other such nonsense, as they see their precious profits being threatened. My mom had Medicare, and a supplement she paid for. Without it, she could not have paid for a fraction of what hospitalization cost over the years. What they charge is unconscionable. The system is broken all around.
But the point was not whether you personally liked Obamacare, it was rather that Biden helped to get it passed, illustrating my point that he had done something to enrich Americans’ lives. I think making it possible for people to get insurance when they previously could not qualifies.
@Don Eachus If Obamacare is so great, why didn’t the politicians get it themselves including Obama & Biden? All of the politicians have a so called Cadillac plan but force a bad plan on the rest of us. Who are they to tell me what to buy? This is the USA. Let the people choose whether to get it or not, why force it on me? Where is my freedom to say No? The insurance companies are also in bed with the Democrats, not just the GOP. They’re also donors to the Democrat party. Look at the Pfizer vaccine rollout. Pfizer waited until after the election to roll out the vaccine. I’d like a straight answer from a politician rather than being lied to about how the ”ACA” is great when the opposite is true. Please stop defending the indefensible.
