After Ye claimed that George Floyd's death was caused by fentanyl, Floyd's family says they plan to take legal action. Roxie Washington, mother of Floyd's daughter Gianna, plans to file a $250 million lawsuit against the rapper for the "defamation" and "emotional distress" caused by his comments made during an appearance on the “Drink Champs” podcast Sunday, according to a press release from Witherspoon Law Group and Dixon & Dixon Attorneys at Law obtained by USA TODAY on Tuesday.

Ye "knowingly made blatantly false statements about George Floyd’s death to promote his brands, and increase marketing value and revenue for himself, his business partners, and associates," the release states.

In addition to the lawsuit, attorneys for Floyd's family have issued a cease-and-desist letter to Ye, demanding that he remove the "Drink Champs" interview and "all similar statements regarding George Floyd from every podcast, website, advertisement, and social media site," as well as refrain from publishing future statements about Floyd.

Before me, the undersigned Assistant District Attorney of Harris County, Texas, this day
appeared the undersigned affiant, who under oath says that he has good reason to believe and
does believe that in Harris County, Texas, GEORGE FLOYD, hereafter styled the Defendant,
heretofore on or about AUGUST 9, 2007, did then and there unlawfully while in the course of
committing theft of property owned by ARACELY HENRIQUEZ and with intent to obtain and
maintain control of the property, intentionally and knowingly threaten and place ARACELY
HENRIQUEZ in fear of imminent bodily injury and death, and the Defendant did then and there
use and exhibit a deadly weapon, to-wit: A FIREARM.

    1. And in supposit robbery he didn’t kill anyone hmm which is worse, the supposit criminal who clearly has restraint or the police officer who a lot of protections that has no restraint? oh and the police officer has a actual history of violence unlike the false charge you keep spreading about flyod.

    1. @Queen Bluntress Speaks even if that was true which i doubt is since so far most people in this comment haven’t stated anything that’s not easily debunked, it doesn’t change the fact that what chauvin did was wrong.

  2. How is that a false claim? That’s literally what happened, and you could clearly tell he was high af in the video

  3. This family has received over $100 million brand new houses from rappers all their schooling paid for brand new vehicles

  4. Oh tell his family to go pick up his belongings. Why did they leave his car and personal belongings for the roommates to dispose of ? Tell them to go get his stuff while they busy shopping 🛍
