Former Chairman of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation, the Hon Harold Lovell says that the current economic crisis has to be met with continued vision and willingness on the part of Caribbean leaders to adapt to meet the dynamic changes that are taking place in the global marketplace. According to Minister Lovell  the region should be ready to embrace innovative and creative strategies in the face of stormy economic times.

Ruling party on the way to victory

The United Progressive Party (UPP) was well on its way to being returned to power for a consecutive term following a controversial general elections in Antigua and Barbuda yesterday.

At the time of going to press, very early this morning, some seven seats were already declared, five of them clearly in the bag for the UPP.

St. John’s City East candidate Harold Lovell scored an easy victory by scoring 826 votes to Ron Maginley’s 645. St. Mary’s South candidate Hilson Baptiste, 1056 votes, won handsomely over Samantha Marshall who scored 737 votes. The Organisation of National Development Candidate Glentis Goodwin got 12 votes.

EDUCATION MINISTER VINCE HENDERSON RELECTS ON THE WORDS OF THE LATE GREAT HENKEL CHRISTIAN

Roseau, Dominica – October 24, 2008……….On the first anniversary of the formal opening of the Windsor Park Stadium on Friday, October 24, 2008, Minister for Education, Hon. Vince Henderson used the occasion of the 2008 National Youth Rally at the Windsor Park to call on Dominicans to remember the words of the late great Mr. Henkel Christian in a speech he delivered on           November 3rd 1978- the date Dominica gained political independence from Britain.
