imo, I think her intention was to not detract from the issue at hand. We can definitely focus on the russian part after.
Her message in particular was to promote voting the tyrant-in-chief out. In doing so, he and his cronies would be subject to legal action, especially without legal immunity. I’d say that her not going on a tangent to talk about the Russian stuff and her dad was the following:
1. To not harm the abusive person in the family; this is quite common behavior in families with abused children.
2. To not detract from the actionable issues at hand. The public can vote Joe in, but cannot directly persecute Rudy for his crimes.
