    1. No just more lifelong politicians. Markey has been in public office since 1976 an Markey like so many other lifelong politicians, is why DC is broken.

    2. Tom Anderson
Markey has been arguably the best congressman in the past half century. He has gotten hundreds of progressive bills passed and has consistently fought for the working class of America. You clearly are dis informed about him

    1. @Nicholas A. Joe Kennedy’s grandfather Robert Kennedy was a figure that could have changed the world. Unfortunately, the Apple is in a different continent from the tree. His son is an anti vaccine conspiracy theorist and his grandson who missed the direction of the flow.

  1. That was the tv-ad that Kennedy cried about. Jesus. That was so tame. Markey even said “with all due respect”. FFS

  2. Another big win for progressives. Another huge loss for the Democratic establishment. This is just the beginning.

    1. @Suomy Nona
Bernie reaches everyone, conservative or liberal. Cons are willing to trust Bernie… But Biden? Nope. If it is not Bernie, they will vote in conservative lines. You wanted to reach that demo? You should have been Bernie The GOAT Sanders.

    2. @jeck jeck If everyone wants Bernie The GOAT Sanders then why did so few vote for him in the primaries? (Don’t try the Trumpian, if he lost he must have been cheated. That’s just sad.) His supporters didn’t show, anti-Hillary voters left him and he couldn’t even win all the delegates in his home state? Some people may give Bernie their trust but for some reason they didn’t give him their vote.
Explain how you and Bernie win if Biden loses and Trump gets reelected. That will take some magic weaving of a delusion.

    3. @Suomy Nona
He *was* cheated:/ We all remember how they ‘accidentally’ messed up the first round of voting when the r%tface bu&tigag claimed the nonexistent victory. Or how they reacted when he crushed Nevada. For now, corporate machine won. (An event we expected and exploited in the long run) Biden has my ‘support’, but do not misunderstand, I would not care if he lost. Progressives don’t win with Biden either, so it makes no difference. For now, liberal progressives will vote for you, but do not expect an emotional investment in the outcome. Unified progressive aim in 2020 is the congress.

    4. @jeck jeck Your supposition of cheating is absurd. You offer a few questionable examples of votes that account for only a few percent of all the delegates. Biden won twice as many delegates as Bernie, even without counting superdelegates.
You and your progressive friends should be emotionally invested and care if Biden wins. If Trump gets a second term he will get a 6-3 SCOTUS and with that the possibility of any of Bernie’s plans is over for at least 40 years, until their influence on the courts has ended. There is no live to fight another day, if Trump gets a 6-3 SCOTUS. Trump’s SCOTUS will find every Bernie program and associated tax unconstitutional.
This is a life or death moment for Bernie’s movement and it’s about time the Bernites realized that.

    5. @Suomy Nona
Scary:/ Progressives aim for the congress for a reason. If senate is under dem control, they’ll simply deny trump any appointments. And even without that, dems can increase the amount of supreme court sits. Rendering any regressive/right wing plans useless. If Biden needs and wants Bernie vote, he can get SOME by advocating for M4A.. at least. If he doesn’t, it is on him and DNC, and no one else. Get it thru your head, for many so called Bernie voters (Conservatives, liberals, independents… two of the groups own DNC no loyalty), there is no distinction between trump and Biden. Both are the enemy, both will do harm. Asking for emotional investment is just too much, especially when DNC is not even willing to cooperate.

  3. Kennedy tried to run on his name and not his accomplishments–he may have potential but he needs to create a name for himself INDEPENDENT from his heritage.

    1. I’m not from MA and I don’t know much about Markey, but I’ve seen Joe and was not impressed. He seems very entitled and out of touch. He was born into politics and apparently expects everything to fall into place if he reads from the right script without putting in the work to know what he’s talking about.

    2. No he doesn’t need to create a name for himself, he’s already got one, and a very good one. He needs to do the hands on work, and create progressive policies and support them; that’s what’ his family is been known for. if he does not want to make any waves, and stay put and roll with the system. Well then there’s a price to pay.

  4. Kennedy is for corporations. Ed Markey is for the people. Let’s keep voting for progressives. Then we will start to see change.

    1. @Manuel progressive policies win*. Because they are popular. The only reason corporate democrats win any race is because of corporate mainstream media dishonesty. Thats the truth, whether you like it or not.

    2. @Tom Anderson
Progressives like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlalib have won multiple times in “purple” districts

    3. @Le Chat Noir Truth hurts. Anyone thinking otherwise and thinking she’ll be the next POTUS really don’t know how the electoral process works.

  5. Here’s how:

(and bear with me…..it gets a bit complicated)

    – he believed in and campaigned on solutions that the majority of people supported.

    1. @jeck jeck Then why is the rich leaving New York.If you tax people 70 percent what is the incentive to work or invest. They would take their money and leave the country. Money would be leaving this country in droves putting the economy in even worst shape,Redistribution of Wealth does not work.

    2. @Lawrence Harris
They’ll be back:) Like Amazon. Right wing liars low to (Duh!) lie about her losing New York 1000 jobs. AOC took Amazon’s bluff, now they are back and making 1500 new jobs for New York:))))) Eat your heart out!

    3. @jeck jeck AOC didn’t even know the three branches of Government when she got elected.
America will never become a Socialist/Marxist country. Her land of Utopia does not exist. There is no such thing as a free ride.Freebee’s in European countries aren’t free. Most have high national sale tax of about 25 percent and a payroll tax of about 50 percent and that for everyday citizens. Our payroll tax is 15 percent.

    4. @Lawrence Harris
LOL, it is trump who did not know 3 branches of the government. Her plan is logical and sensible, unlike everything right wing spews or lies about:) M4A 2020, 2024!

    1. @Jaskaran Singh Then stop using products and services from corporations? Wait…what…you can’t? LMFAO. STOP using those corporate products and services you hate so much. You won’t and YOU know it.

  6. Also, hypocrite Pelosi — who criticized AOC for endorsing challengers of incumbent Democrats yet herself endorsed Kennedy’s challenge against incumbent Democrat Markey — can never again criticize endorsements of challengers.

    1. he was also an anti-vaccer. Say what you will about politics, anyone who questions science and medicine is not worthy to be a representative.

    2. And that’s what it’s all about? Do Americans care about policies? I.e. What the person actually wants to achieve??

  7. Kennedy didn’t win because progressivism is the future. We’re sick of the neo-liberals putting corporations over the best interests of the people.
