A Georgia second grader tested positive for Covid-19 after attending the first day of school, the school district told CNN.
Sixes Elementary in the Cherokee County School district began in-person classes on Monday. But by Tuesday, a classroom was temporarily closed for deep cleaning and the teacher and 20 other students had been asked to quarantine for two weeks after the second grader tested positive.
Meanwhile, several students in the Corinth School District in Mississippi have been infected with Covid-19 a little over a week after in-person classes resumed.
Taylor Coombs, spokesperson for the Corinth School District, told CNN that six students and one staff member tested positive for the coronavirus. According to Coombs, 116 students that have been considered in "close contact" of a positive case have been sent home to quarantine for 14 days.
The student population in the district is 2700.

@The Provincial Post , the Republicans are trying to pass a Bill that won’t allow employees to sue their employer if they get COVID-19 due to lack of safety practices implemented in the workplace. So teachers wouldn’t be able to sue and I won’t put it past the Republicans to add that nobody can sue.

I don’t care if I get it, I’m young and healthy enough to most likely come out okay, but I don’t want to accidentally kill someone because I passed it on to them. Family or not, I don’t want to deal with that baggage. If I passed it on to my mom or siblings…I don’t know what I would do, that’s not an easy thing to carry.

My school was originally built in the 70s (later added on) so student enrollment was smaller so that must by why the older classrooms are smaller.

My loved one works for an elite private school, that is opening with no mask requirements. So it isnt true that they are staying closed. This is also a school with a large republican backing of rich families with an average tuition of 35k a year. The headmaster literally believes that the virus is fake.
