2020 was worse than you thought. Here’s why

A new report shows that democracy took a hit in 2020, with 73 nations — including the United States — declining in their Freedom House democracy scores. In this latest episode of The Point, CNN’s Chris Cillizza explains why democracy faltered in the United States and around the world.

    1. @Scurra Another thing I noticed about CNN, the first thing they go on when there’s a tragic shooting is the color of the skin of the shooter. Not the tragedy of the incident itself but the color of the skin’. Twitter lit up was soon as the guy in cuffs was on the news. A lot of retractions had to be made. By one little video it was a white man having a bad day again. Sad when color is the first thing these liberals look at instead of the tragedy that took place.

    2. @Scurra Another thing being said by liberals on shootings, if it was any color other than white they’d be dead. Funny, I’ve been in jail and prison myself. If cops would kill anyone who isn’t white, why was I able to hang out with blacks, Mexicans and Asians into prison???? Wouldn’t prison only be full of whites? Liberals make no sense to me.

    3. @Scurra oh, and if there’s such a thing as white privilege and we get away with everything, why was the prison I was in a huge majority of us white people?

    4. @Scurra I get so fucking tired of this race baiting bullshit. I’m white, I’ve been in many many courtrooms in front of several judges. I’ve seen who gets to walk out of a courtroom and who gets denied. There may be some race issues. But it’s NOT systematic like they claim. Where I’m from color has nothing to do with a judges decision. It’s the job you have, married with kids, was it a violent crime, how many arrests. ABSOFUCKINGLUTLY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE COLOR OF SOMEBODY’S SKIN!!!!!!!

    5. @Scurra one last question. Why is it then CNN is pushing it as a Asian hate crime when the monster has confessed and said it was a sex and porn addiction and race had nothing to do with it?

    1. Are you saying you didn’t work hard, save your money or use any of the free stimulus to invest for your future? I hear spite in your comment Rob.

    2. @Utsav Chaudhary destroying small businesses is good according to your statement.
Why do people complain about the rich getting richer🙄

  1. History is Past. We cannot change it as much as we may want to but we can go forward making positive changes based on the past. Not by dwelling on the past, but by living in this moment, remembering the lessons learned and moving ahead hopefully a little smarter and a bit wiser than we were before. Peace Love and Blessings

    1. @Gayle Schaefer It is a statement. How profound it may be is individual to the one who sees beyond the words to the truths that sit within them and within themselves. Peace Love and Blessings :o)

    2. We need to dwell long enough to figure out what happened, how it happened, why it happened and what we can do to insure to does not happen again.
That is how we move forward, avoiding running on a hamster wheel; repeating the same thing over and over again.

    3. @Rebekah Ogle I agree however, many of these issues have been dwelt on, debated over, discussed at nausea. We know how things came to this point and we know what needs to be done to remedy many of these ills. These issues are not exclusive to this decade or even this century. I grew up in the sixties, racial/gender inequality, racism, poverty, gang violence, riots, protests, murders, political corruption… Sound familiar? And through out it all, we hear, we are talking about it, discussing it but that is all that is being done, a whole bunch of lip service and zero real move to change. It is sad to realize, the issues I grew up watching for over 50 years are still being suffered and everyone still wants to “talk” instead of “Act”. Have a beautiful day :o) Peace Love and Blessings

  2. As an introvert, I had a great time. I loved not being encouraged to leave my house or spend time with people. I had the time of my life.

    1. @Terry Merritt Dude, if you lost your job to an untrained immigrant with English as a second language, that’s not the Governments fault. Maybe you should have paid a little attention in High School, (if you went)…

    2. Same! I have never felt so at peace before in my life! I absolutely enjoyed staying home!

    1. And Xi Jinping? What will he be held accountable for?
No remarks on why Wuhan officials made the mistake of leaking out quarantine policies to the public, intentionally or not intentionally leaving thr airports open so that 5 Million people in the city of Wuhan to escape quarantine measures going outbound to Italy and other parts of the world?
It took over a year to have investigations up there in Wuhan and it wasn’t even done by an unbiased, impartial and objective independent agency either.

    1. China is boldly putting their middle one in the USA rectum! Before you attack me go listen to the meeting !
      MSM WONT REPORT THAT
      SUCH A DISGRACE!

  4. 1:36 Could someone tell me what their definition of “free” is? It’s quite a nebulous term when simplifying a country’s culture, political system, policing, and history…

  5. 2020 was a good year for me. ALL 23 descendants are well. That is more than good. Count your blessings.

  6. We stayed safe, but really miss those family parties. It’s been over a year but everybody is close to vaccinated. I don’t mind continuing wearing a mask for everybody.

  7. 0:01 Yes. Billionaires that spent quarantine on their privates yachts, watching their billions in the stock market grow into even MORE billions, had a very good 2020.
