Most of our investments towards crime must be in homes, in schools skills training, education and economic development, the government is spending 176 billion on mainly the security side, where is the infrastructure investments for those countless informal settlements.

  4. The minister said yesterday sometimes one JCF Detective is assigned up to 13 cases, while in countries where there are few murders 13 Detectives are assigned to one murder. So that means we are producing too many criminals and not enough police.

    5. @Latoya T Miss Diva Supplies If you are party of the political mob or a beneficiary of the scarce benefits and spoils politics, you have a lot of corrupt politicians in both parties you can reference to, there is a certain Western St. Thomas MP and you have the Chairman of the opposition party, I don’t really know which side of the fence you are on.

    1. I agree with u…I said it all the time…all the crimes that happened in JAMAICA…an don’t comes to trial that is a police job!!

  6. Why not focus on the family? Start with the family. Build and strengthen the family and the communities and we might make some head way. Then attack the wealth discrepancies that exist in our society. At least giving individuals a level playfield. After graduating High School and University what is there for persons to strive for? Other than to become a teacher, police or soldier? What development or creative skills are we honing to set us apart from others? We are always playing catch up and it begs the question as to why?

  7. Government fail time for some DEA and FBI training… Costom fail all gun come through air ship and water… Community center are needed in 14 parish.. Education and trade program needed in the prison system. Jamaica prison system raising badder criminal…. Security forces need cleaning out

  8. Proper housing are critical to crime prevention, being poor is a crime in its self. So until you give people hope that they can live a decent life in Jamaica you will never succeed in the battle against crime. The big yard ting need to cut out, tear down the zink fences and start developing the communities, put in proper infrastructure for our children and stop come pon tv come chat rubbish
