Former National Hockey League player Akim Aliu says the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) and directors of its AAA clubs for nearly two years stonewalled his bid for an expansion organization that would have assured roster spots for BIPOC players, had mandates for female representation and people of colour in managerial positions, and had the financial backing of major sponsors, as reported by TSN.

  1. JT told injured veterans that they are asking for more than Canada can give, then turned around and helped fund a war in another country (non NATO) on a completely different continent…

  2. Bipoc only spots are very unnecessary. It’s more important that there is a spot for anyone who wants to play. And parents (who might not originate from Canada) should be made aware of when & how the sign up process works and the associated costs.

  3. Take a look at how well diversity and inclusion is working around North America…..Regardless of any positions, only those qualified should be considered.

  4. Getting rights because of your skin color is itself racist. I guess we should protest the NBA, they don’t have enough Asians. If you don’t have the skill that’s your problem, not your skin colours problem. This is like receiving a participating trophy
