Boris Johnson apologizes after being fined for lockdown-breaking parties

Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his finance minister Rishi Sunak were fined by police over lockdown-breaking parties held on UK government premises, a Downing Street spokesperson told CNN.

London's Metropolitan Police said they had issued more than 50 fines as part of their "Operation Hillman" investigation into gatherings held on government premises in Downing Street and Whitehall while the rest of the country was living under strict pandemic restrictions. Revelations of the parties sparked national outrage.

      what are ‘natural laws!?
Do they include driving on the correct side of the road under the speed limit, without 6 pints in your belly?

Mandate are quickly implemented to face a specific situation, limited in time. A law is a long-term rule, voted by the elected representatives, and that often take more time to be created. Both are enforceable by the police, but they respond to different situations.

    2. I wonder if he just used someone else’s fine money to pay his own fines? I’m sure the reason they didn’t disclose them is because they were identical figures, or less.

I did, that’s what I found. Please tell me what Natural Law is and how it would have dealt with the pandemic.

  1. People aspire too lead nations and be remembered in a favourable manner in history’s records. Boris has paid the price of playing the buffoon in public office, oh he’ll be a interesting inclusion, but not for the right reasons! 🥳

  2. Sorry that he hosted parties while others couldn’t meet their potentially dying loved ones or sorry that he was caught and fined?

    1. @Alexander L Believe me. If we had anyone other than him as PM Ukraine would get more support from the UK.

  3. He hides behind the now apparently meaningless concept of accepting responsibility.
“Responsibility” without meaningful consequences (aka resignation) means nothing.
I’m beyond embarrassed with this man. It’s time we started another poll tax withholding campaign or similar to express our frustrations.

    1. The man says the birthday party was less then 10 minutes… what does that have to do with anything? Politicians deflect deflect and deflect thats all they ever do.

  4. What a liar! He’s only sorry that he got caught! All that just to hold onto power while abusing it at the same time? Pathetic!

  5. Fines mean nothing to them, Rishi’s wifey is an actual billionaire and everyone knows Boris hasn’t any financial worries, this wasn’t even a parking ticket

    1. Well sure, but the true cost is to their public reputations. No one thought that a fine on its own would have any personal financial impact. The punitive damage may come from the ballot box, not their personal finances.

    2. Pls write to your local MP and ask for resignation of Boris and Sunak. It’s not enough just to write comments on here . Thanks x

  6. First offence for small gathering, £200, reduced to £100 if paid within 14 days.

Large gatherings of more than fifteen people
First Offence – £800 (reduced to £400 if paid within 14 days)

So, about what he spent on champagne on a night out wrecking a restaurant in his Bullington days!!

  7. the upper class still have too much power for themselves and keep us hungry with no hope!

  8. Breaking: Johnson is mortified he’s been fined and has had to pay it, i’ve never hated a pm as much as johnson.

    1. He made the rules that banned families from attending funerals and parents from being together at their dying baby’s bedside, all while they partied, and repeatedly lied about it.

  9. The worst PM in history…completely unsuitable in every single way…void of a single ounce of integrity

  10. When a British talks of violation of “sovereignty a nation” to India, it sounds nothing less than pathetic.

  11. bojo: “i deny having done it on purpose”
people: “remember what you have denied before ? turned out you also lied that time…” 🙂
