Buddy Holly wins Westminster, marking a first for the breed | USA TODAY

Buddy Holly, a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen, won Best in Show at the 147th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. He is the first PBGV to win the title.

"I never thought a PBGV would do this," said handler and owner Janice Hayes. "Buddy Holly is the epitome of a show dog. Nothing bothers him. He loves all the cameras… He's just everything a PBGV should be, hard-headed, stubborn, happy and he moves just so easily. We are so proud of him and this is so surreal."

  1. That lil’ growl Buddy Holly gave after the 2nd rear/tail exam Peggy Sue administered sounded like, “if you do that again, one of us’s gonna need a cigarette” lol. Congratulations Buddy!!
