I like to say God-taught.🤗🧡💐 Good for you, sweetheart! She is quite prolific! I got the gift at around age 18. It is difficult to explain how the process works through you. It’s like your brain naturally knows the techniques but it becomes hard to explain, verbally, when asked to!
In the early days of the gift, after never having painted before, I saw a picture on my uncle’s mantle. It came to my mind that I can paint that picture. Nuts! Lol. Someone bought me a basic paint set and brushes and…Voila! The other side of that is that you can lack the ability to paint on demand and can, mostly, only by inspiration and mood.
It can sometimes be hard to believe that the work came from us. God, who is Creator, lends us gifts and creativity in a MYRIAD of ways! Not only in this genre. The skill to do most anything is art! He gets all the credit and glory!🙏🏽🙏🏽
And, PLEASE, never push someone with raw talent to do other aspects in their field unless they show an interest. Ask them. Let them tell you. Study their response, then go from there. Most creatives like to be in control of their evolution. Anything more can easily overwhelm them and foster counterintuitive behavior. I have witnessed many who lock down and refuse to continue. It is a complex aspect of the psyche, and interwoven with our emotional and mental state. It is a profound place.
I am an artist but not patient enough to teach, nor do I feel that calling. It is oftentimes difficult to explain techniques that come so naturally to you, especially when you’re an introvert. And yet there are many who are TERRIFIC at teaching it! 😁
