  1. An old school liberal that didn’t change and didn’t pander or virtue signal. Junior should take note.

    1. Who also lied about no knowledge about residential schools until it was proven that he, as Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs, was informed in 1968. He went back to under his rock was this was disclosed. Chretien was/is no hero to western Canada or to our military.

    1. Wish I knew that at 20 instead of 50. Life would of made more sense. Life is tough even for the rich and blessed.

    1. i like chretien too. voted for him in all his elections. i really really dislike justin and won’t be voting for him.

    2. @Matt L I think this already been tried. Many insurrectionists serving time as well they should be.

    1. @Jumbo Me Not as corrupt as Mulroney before him. Read the book on the take. Will turn your stomach.

    1. This mess happened around the whole world. Pandemic, inflation, now high interest rates to bring it down. 200 countries going through the same thing.

  2. Many don’t agree with this guy but at least we can understand what the heck he’s talking about.

  3. Are they seriously asking this guy about corruption? Do they not remember Adscam? He only avoided jail time by a JT liberal type technicality.

  4. Chretien saved Canada from financial catastrophe when he was PM (mid 1990s to early 2000s). Canada’s finances were so bad that the Wall Street Journal called Canada an “honorary member of the Third World.” Chretien was one of the few politicians in Ottawa with the guts and conviction to fix Canada’s financial problems regardless of the consequences. Chretien can’t take all of the praise and there was a lot of luck, but he got Canada back on track and stayed the course when he didn’t have to. Chretien is one of Canada’s best PMs, IMO.

    1. His Finance Minister and he fixed the debt problem by taking the accumulated Employment Insurance Fund of the Public Servants. Yes great Party. 🤨

    2. @Michel Dumont So Canada losing its credit rating and the dollar free falling to about $0.40 is better than taking drastic budgetary measures?

  5. And to think how against him I was.
He seems like a genius compared to the bean bag we have now.

    1. Did you recently suffer a concussion? He was no friend to western Canada and to our once proud military. Disbanded Airborne unit based in Somalia (a very effective FIGHTING unit sent to be peacekeepers?) and demoralized the military based on his indifference to those who once proudly served.

  6. I’m a die-hard conservative and I always like Prime Minister Chretien…a real statesman, completely opposite to the Clown-show we have as a Prime Minister now!

  7. Never voted Liberal in my life but I still could respect Chrétien and Paul Martin Can’t say the same about Trudeau him and his court jesters they are insulted to Canada
