@Larry St.Amant Yeah, I’m real interested in all the franco-american groups, brayons, acadians, cajuns, metis, new england french, creoles(arguably, but people usually lump them in). It just sucks that all of the different groups seemingly have to fight to even be accepted as a real ethnic group, especially in Louisiana, with the culture being hated, suppressed, the commercialized and sold like a joke. It’s mainly that reason that I hope all the different communities can form a broader identity some day, without sacrificing the regional identities of course
Right now it seems like Cajuns are pulling all the weight keeping the franco culture alive in US right now though, and I really hope that can change some time
