CNN anchor warns Brazil riot is ‘real world impact’ of Jan 6

Hundreds of supporters of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro stormed major government buildings in the country's capital city Brasilia. The breaches come about a week after the inauguration of Lula da Silva, who returned to power after he defeated Bolsonaro in a run-off election. CNN's John Avlon discusses how the incident is reminiscent of January 6, 2021, when rioters stormed the US Capitol in an effort to prevent the certification of the 2020 election. #CNN #News

  1. Education is treasure and practice is the key
This is what happens when the Americans exceptionalism are not held accountable under the law, Trump , Steve Bannon and others should be in prison for a long time

    1. @Gospel of Jesus Christ Thanks for the reminder of the words of our Godly Saint St Matthew, Yesterday we were into a little study about St Paul, he didn’t care about the advantage of being a citizen of Rome, Acts 16 vs 37 to 39 ,the only Citizenship that had meaning to him was his Citizenship in heaven ,Philippians 3 vs 20 ,Bless his holy name

    2. @Ry Term limits do nothing but help corpos gain and keep control. You’re essentially taking away the possibility of the people to choose their representative and forcing it so there’s only new people who don’t know how things work as well as the corporations that don’t have term limits and will be there to influence each new person coming in.
“oooh sorry we’re out of stock of the actual freedom candidate the only 2 left on the shelves are the ones that haunt you in the middle of the night, ooooops gotta choose one”

    3. CNN is lying. The current Brazilian president is convicted criminal. He wasn’t elected by the people. Lula is a condemned criminal.
      Bolsonaro was a legitimate president

  2. Difficult and sad situation, i wish the best for everyone. Brazil is a wonderful country

    1. @Glenn Mandigo any of them that attacked the capitol are traitors. If you can’t see that, then you are blind

  3. The rhetoric from Bolsonaro sounds exactly like something I’ve heard before but I can’t place my finger on it. 🤔

    1. @Duncan MacLeod CNN is corporate owned msm with the biases and selective coverage that comes with it. I use a variety news outlets and fact check or cross reference regularly.
The 14 points of fascism lists are a good place to start to get a handle on right wing extremism. A 1943 short war film(20 minutes) gives a good primer on fascism from that era. It’s called Don’t Be A Sucker. It was put out by the US war department.

  4. The 1964 Brazilian Coup, backed by the US, brought to Brazil a military regime politically aligned with US interests. US logistical support for the coup, should it be needed, was to be provided by The US Navy and USAF. (Operation Brother Sam)

    1. @freddie323909 They possibly influence elections now, much more subtle and effective. People are fed up because Lula a former corrupt and CONVICTED politician somehow got elected.

    1. @TS – How can you tread on them when they’re off with their boyfriends playing soldier in the woods? 😂🤣

    2. @TS -WhoTF is treading on them?
The government!! Yet they wanna infringe upon other people’s rights? GTFOH!!!

  5. Fortunately their government had the smarts to immediately arrest these thugs rather than let them walk away freely, and try to track them down later.

    1. @Scotty Bell That’s why I stopped caring what happens to the US. They GIVE these people power and then clutch pearls and demand they be put in prison. But WHO’S gonna put them in prison?!

    2. Hi, I’m Brazilian. I’m here to say that Lula, the current president of Brazil, was the leader of the biggest corruption in the history of Brazil. In the demonstrations there were supporters of Lula who infiltrated to place the blame on the pro-Bolsonaro, we have videos of the pro-Bolsonaro protecting things so vandals do not break, vandalism is a crime!!!!

  6. Humanity has lost it’s patience. The need to be right outweighs the need to be right. Yeah, that’s how much sense it makes.

  7. “Человек мерра всех вещей … существующих , что они чуществуют , не существующих , что они не существуют ….” Софисты , Афин , Греция , 270 year , before the birth of Djizuss Kraisth ….

    1. Because Brazil is corrupt and they would have put him to death for the uprising. God isn’t dead in my heart people have free will and if you agree that another man should be punished for the actions of others even if it was after he spoke freely his mind is disgusting and dystopian

    2. Typical dictators/autocrat wannabes are always like that, lots of empty promises but don’t deliver the in the end anyways!!

  8. Thanks DOJ for showing the world an insurrection is no big deal since Trump is still roaming free and his fellow insurrectionists are now running the house!

  9. “Those who don’t know History are DOOMED to repeat it…” – George Santayana (1863-1952) <--- Twain is off base.

  10. Those damn “leaders” that get to taste the flavor of power and refuse to let go, it’s all about them not about the country.
