  1. He’s basically saying if he comes on my show, I’m tear him up!!!! 🤷🏿‍♂️ please invite him on your show!!!! We all would like to see that!!!!

    1. Possibly his father made a contribution to Wharton…..? That happens in lots of educational
      institutions, you know?@Paul Boccuti

  2. “Give me your tired and poor…”, if they can support themselves, makes no sense. This Cuchinella dude is wicked!

  3. Love you Stephen Colbert you say it how it is, and you are honest in what you say,, you keep us all sane, uplifted and entertained in this crazy world we live in right now. Love and Blessings from New Zealand 🇳🇿♥️👏👏👏

  4. I think the people who would be outraged by the changing of the Poem have already left trump, intellectually and emotionally. The only people left on trump’s side are his base, who are so nuts they can’t see the wood for the trees.

  5. Trump is having flashbacks to the Apprentice show, thinking he and he alone make the decisions for our lives !

    1. @trinitywildcat I am a despicable human being why…because I don’t support DIRT-DOGS, DIRT-PIPES, SCHMEG HARVEST and infected penis hole syrup?

    2. It does seem like you’ve triggered some Trump trolls Eugene, so you’ve likely hit the head on the nail. 😂

    3. @Christopher Weingart People aren’t usually so adamant about branding people breaking civil infractions “illegal”.

  6. Fredo : It ain’t the way I wanted it! I can handle things! I’m smart! Not like everybody says… like dumb… I’m smart and I want respect!

    1. People, say “Colbert” with the T pronounced, as in English, like before he got famous. Real ‘Murcuns don’t like that effete French-like stuff.

  7. Everyone knows America is great because of 3 things. The bill of rights, the constitution and a poem put on a statue. SMH

  8. “we’re not here to educate the audience, we are here to give our opinion” – Dont ever forget this.
More commentary is exactly what we need.
I miss John Stewart. Only one who did it right.

    1. @Stephen Thorpe and further, those who don’t resign themselves to a single news source are (surprisingly?) more tolerant than either.

  9. Good interview
For the first months of the presidency I doubted my perception of trump and I was asking everybody what they thought. They confirmed my views. Now I won’t listen to his speeches. T is an abnormal SOB, and will destroy our country. I was watching Zorro last night. I want Zorro to do to T what he did to the spanish soldiers in California.

    1. Rory Gay….we all know secretly you voted for TRUMP and will again in 2020
      Thanks for supporting the Republicans

    2. WOW. Every Trump supporter reply is more poorly written than the next.
These people struggled in school and struggle to this day to think, or use basic logic. Yet they possess an arrogance in their own ‘smarts’ so much that they refuse to see that PERHAPS he was lying directly to them, multiple times, and that they may be do lower-than-average intelligence and be unable to think critically or with any objective perspective.

I blame the US education system: defunded by Republicans for decades.
      Keep America Gaslit.
Let the dumb think they are actually smart cos they are too dumb to know better (Dunning-Kruger effect), hype them up, over-emote, lie, mislead and tell them not to trust their eyes and ears.
No wonder Trump “love[s] the uneducated”. They never question him and believe his propaganda.
      Scary stuff.

    3. @Vicki jenkins I do listen to the potus at his speeches and his rallies, that’s how i know we have a real problem with this man as president. Anyone who really listens to him and hears what he says knows this. I think you hear what you want to hear and are not really listening and thinking about what he is saying.

  10. I’m sure fox/hannity will just play the “for safety’s sake, it wouldn’t be a good idea” portion.

    1. Yeah but what KIND of people? People like @MrToby101? They are the Fifth Column rotting out the heart and brains of your country. Your country has created this monster through a very bad system of education. You are being eaten alive by greed at the top and great swaths of gross ignorance at the bottom. It is now quite possible that the USA will not survive this ordeal. Sadly, you have lost the respect of the World. This makes me incredibly sad.

    2. @Gillian Sernich “Your country” implies that your not American. Maybe you should mind your own business. Don’t worry next time Europe starts a world war we will come bail you out again. The US is fine. The media are drama queens and liars. They get paid by clicks and the truth is boring, nothing much has changed. Working same job, with same people, talking about same TV shows. Like I said, boring.

    3. @Gillian Sernich perfectly stated. United States was created based on capitalism 1st. Greed for money and status has taken over our moral compass. When a reality show celebrity, with track record of numerous bankruptcies, and dodge military recruitment can become president..anybody can. The highest office should be occupied with someone with intelligence and diplomacy. People do not realize numerous countries have lost respect for USA and are advancing in infrastructure and technologies. One day we will look up and another country will be considered the leader.

  11. Hello a nd good morning Stephen Colbert,
I love your program. I am glad you do not have Trump on your show. I believe he is damaging to our country, he is a poor role model for boys and men. Since he has taken office, he has given permission to others, to lie and be unlawful, at every level of our government. Good luck with your show and take care. Respectfully, Kathleen Shannon

  12. Wow, Stephen is so thoughtful at the end that you know he’s absolutely serious. It’s so sad to see the presidency in such shambles. but I’m sure that this too shall pass. Go vote, people.

    1. @Dearly Diane The “deep state” is as mythical as the 3-5 million illegal voters Orange Idiot believes prevented him from winning the popular vote. Here’s the real “deep state” — your Faux News induced deep state of delusion. Putin will be counting on your vote again in 2020, you Russian suckered dipstick.

    2. @JB Williams LBJ was the most vial president. He would have aids take notes while he was drunk and taking a dump.

    3. Tom Acosta, indeed. I am enjoying the spectacle. It has never been so blunt. I guess Epstein’s murder and collapse of the Russia-gate hoax is making them extra desperate 🙂
