    1. Yea praying. This will surely be the thing that helps. What do you think this is? Punish an entire continent to see who can pray the hardest? What an amazing god you worship!

  1. We had the technology to make it rain for years in the Vietnam war with operation Popeye. Why can’t we do that in Australia????

    1. @You I’ve been driving from Sydney to Armidale very regularly since 1989, I have never seen the countryside this dry. There has been a fire burning in the Inverell /New England region since September. Armidale has been on Level 5 water restrictions since October.

    2. It was 1949, the Australian comonwealth scientific research organization had just run its first computer programs on the fourth stored program digital computer in the world. Our own design. Success. So now to commercialize our technology. Oh wait, limited funds, so CSIR decided that we were an agricultural economy and put our research funds into cloud seeding for the next ten year until we realised it didn’t work. The computer was still in use to 1965. See it on display at the Science Museum in Melbourne. The original artifact not a recreation.

    3. California recently had a drought that lasted seven years. If it were so simple to seed the clouds, they would have done so. But, without any humidity, there are no clouds to seed. This is the result of human caused climate change. It is the reason that the California wildfire season is year-round, not just in late fall, as it used to be. I feel for you Australia, and especially for your poor crispy marsupials. The images of dead wallabies and kangaroos are heart-breaking. And those sad koalas, with their burnt paws, ears and noses, made tears well up in my eyes. Where will the surviving animals live, their habitat is cinders?

  2. The “burn it with fire!” meme is going to be a lot less funny from here on out… (and rightfully so)

    This is a extinction-level disaster!

  3. Brian, thanks for your thoughtful coverage of the fires affecting us. I feel you summed the situation up well. Gary – Canberra Australia. PS. I’m glad you included the comparative map to show the full extent of the crisis, the size of it is truly unprecedented.

    1. Yes, that map illustrated the extent of the devastation. Excellent and informative. Also the mention of about half a billion wildlife killed was very important.

  4. Thank you Brian, we have only just begun to see these fires here in Australia, thanks especially for your thoughts.

    1. Yes, the lord will keep them safe. This is why he started those fires! To keep them safe! Maybe this is just a test, killing dozens of people, burning half a continent down to see who can pray the hardest?
      *Think for a second!*

  5. I feel so sorry for the people of OZ & the animals. They are as corrupt over there as the USA! Deny Climate Change! grrr

  6. I have lived in Taree NSW for over 26 years and have never seen fires as bad as this summer. Once, in the late 90’s there was a small fire about 15km south east but it did no damage only burned out some tomato plants that were under shelters. This 2019/2020 summer is beyond belief. And it just keeps going and going. Hot dry windy, without rest

  7. Please 🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧 I thought it was bad in Oregon.

  8. Thank you to all the firefighters battling these horrendous fires, and a big thank you to all those who are coming to Australia from overseas to help fight to save our beautiful country.

  9. instead of us all preparing for war and cry about war in this country or around the world we should all be giving and helping as much as we can to the people and animals of Australia who desperately need their brothers and sisters on planet Earth to help them right now
