@Mr. White Regardless of the original language from the forefathers, this nation has evolved into something closer to a democracy. As you know, landowners were initially the sole influencers over the direction of the nation. I can get into the reasoning but that’s another discussion. Bottom line is “we the people…” has more relevance with more inclusion (“a more perfect union”). Yet despite all the amendments to make things more perfect over the decades and centuries, there remains a demographic of bigots and hateful people whose ideology should be dead already. MTG represents those people. It’s sad and painful to witness.

This whole troublesome leader cult, fabrication of reality, alienating and eliminating people like Cheney, who dare to disagree? The same thing happened in the 1930s in Germany. So many of my own ancestors followed Hitler for selfish reasons, because they liked to cheer the man and because they lacked the guts and intellectual capacity to stand up for the truth. And 10 years later millions of Jews, political enemies, homosexuals and others were murdered, Europe was in a horrible war and dozens of millions (including Americans) lost their lives. Suddenly people realized whom they had been following, but it was too late. Of course, the border cages were no concentation camps, but Trump’s way of treating foreigners and his shameful rhetoric (and that of MTG) is comparable to the beginnings of German fascism. And, no, wearing masks is by no means comparable to the shoah. Only very stupid and evil people make such a comparison.

It certainly wouldn’t fix everything, but it might help to require U.S. representatives to live in their district for a predetermined number of years before being eligible to run…

It’s anti-Semitic to equate Israel with the Jewish people. A great deal of Jewish people feel Israel is wrong in their treatment of the Palestinians. What she did was belittle and diminish the horrors that the Jewish people have gone through. If you don’t see how that’s anti-semitic, that’s a you thing.

During the tour which the Peel Commission did in Palestine in 1937, Ben-Gurion told the commission that the Bible was the Jewish people’s “Mandate.” (One Palestine Complete, p. 401)
A month after the Nazi pogrom against Germany’s Jews, famously known as Kristallnacht, Ben-Gurion provided an interesting mathematical formula for saving German Jewish kids. He stated in December 1938:
“If I knew it was possible to save all [Jewish] children of Germany by their transfer to England and only half of them by transferring them to Eretz-Yisrael, I would choose the latter—-because we are faced not only with the accounting of these [Jewish] children but also with the historical accounting of the Jewish People.” (Righteous Victims, p. 162)
And in December 1942, Ben-Gurion (who was the chairman of the Jewish Agency) also commented on the Holocaust:
“The catastrophe of European Jewry is not, in a direct manner, my business. . . . The destruction of the European Jewry is the death-knell of Zionism.” (Righteous Victims, p. 162-163)
In October 1882, Validimir Dubnow, one of the earliest Zionist pioneers in Palestine, wrote to his brother articulating the ultimate goals of the Zionists movement:
“The ultimate goal . . . is, in time, to take over the Land of Israel and to restore to the Jews the political independence they have been deprived of for these two thousand years. . . . The Jews will yet arise and, arms in hand (if need be), declare that they are the masters of their ancient homeland.” (Righteous Victims, p. 49)
In 1938, Ben-Gurion made it clear that his support for the establishment of the Jewish state in part of Palestine was only as an intermediary stage. Note how he uses the phrase “Eretz Yisrael” or “Land of Israel” in reference to the Biblical Map, he wrote:

I lived in Europe and found it important to visit the Berlin wall, after it came down, and Dachau, the concentration camp, because I thought it was important to see the site of something that should never happen again and pay my respects. I took pictures of the floor to ceiling pictures of the massacre that took place regularly on a daily basis there because I thought people I knew should see it so they understood what should never happen again. The words coming out of her mouth are overwhelming horrific after what I saw, in pictures 60 years after it happened that I can not express my condolences and apologies to those who own that history for this disgusting being that has a say in your daily lives to speak so flippantly comparing a piece of cloth. I am so sorry.
