    1. What we did was so wrong on so many levels.
We went in there and gave those women and children hope.
We introduced them to a better way.
A way where they are valued equal and safe.
And then we abandoned them to their fate.
      We’re worse then the taliban.
At least they are 100% honest with their actions.
Damn right true and honest empathetic human beings wanted to stay there!!!

  1. It is a very, very difficult situation but we’ve been in Afghanistan for 20 years. If they haven’t figured out how to establish a government can stand against the Taliban by now, when were they actually going to do it without our help? We could have easily been there forever.

I hate what’s happening there, but maybe they just aren’t ready. Ukraine is ready. I would rather go help Ukraine.

But I will say this. There are people, Americans who joined the foreign legion and are fighting in Ukraine. If anyone feels that strongly, go fight in Afghanistan.

    1. @kay armstrong I’m not remotely comfortable, Kay, in response to your admonishment that I should not get so comfortable. And by the way, Russia has not only done a number on this country, they’re allied with China. I know you know that.

    2. @NE Bluefire I’m not trying to get anywhere with you. You vote RECESSION Biden and I will vote Trump.

  2. how is the US going to beat Russia in the Ukraine, if they cant beat a rugged army of Kalashnikov warriors?

  3. what happened with the withdraw from afghanstan was heart breaking how ever iraq and 9/11 happened on Buschs watch and we were there for 20 years

  4. It was a tragic and chaotic retreat for sure. But that’s what happens when you make an agreement with terrorist promising them an entire country (and of course the Afghans had NO say in that agreement). Would have been just as chaotic no matter who was president at the time. It was doomed from the start. Of course it didn’t help that the Afghans didn’t even bother to put up a fight against a small group of armed maniacs.

    1. I forget who but someone pointed out at the time that while the withdrawal was chaotic, it was also occurring a couple of weeks before it was supposed to start due to the Afghan govt folding completely. It’s always a delicate situation and this was definitely not the plan.
There are several “Afghanistans” there and nothing is simple. A chunk of Afghans didn’t want the US there and don’t want the Taliban there now. They had to make a choice and didn’t. Due to it’s location and constant machinations of it’s neighbors, I don’t think they’ll find peace 🙁

  5. I definitely remember that it’s great of our military and the utter incompetence of our leader. That was a sad day watching people fall from airplanes and knowing so many of our allies were abandoned and left behind.

  6. CNN’s Clarissa Ward is in the Tangi Valley, Afghanistan, where locals say they’re relieved that US troops left.Source: CNN just one week ago

  7. What about the afghan people fighting for their country instead of looking around for someone to fight for them

  8. As an Afghanistan veteran I am glad you are remembering these service members. But where is the annual Remembrance of every service member we lost there?

    1. @Mohamed Trevino you don’t know me you don’t know where I was. Hide on the internet all you want tough guy.

  9. Veterans of OEF demand accountability for the 20 year war in Afghanistan and the corruption that followed to include the debacle of our withdrawal from that country. Accountability for OEF!!

  10. I an so tired of these whiners if after twenty years the people can’t stand up for their freedom then they don’t deserve it .also the military must not be any good at country building. An we didn’t let them down they didn’t fight

  11. We need to pray for the hundreds wounded also 🙏 😢 remember our so called president checking his watch when our fallen soldiers returned home pray for his soul
