More than once during its year-long investigation, members of the House committee examining the Capitol attack suggested former President Donald Trump’s conduct was not only wrong but criminal.
At the end of a three-hour hearing earlier this week, the panel made yet another startling disclosure, revealing Trump called an unnamed witness, later identified in reports as a White House support staffer, following blistering testimony in June from a former Trump administration aide, Cassidy Hutchinson.

Dialing a witness is tampering? What if you only dial 9 of the 10 digits, is that 9/10ths-tampering? What if you selected the wrong speed dial, is that mis-tampering? What if you butt-dial a witness, is that butt-tampering? What if your child dials while playing with your phone, is that child-tampering? What if you got blasted and drunk-dialed a witness, is that drunk-tampering? What if you thought about dialing but didn’t, is that thought-tampering?
My point – dialing doesn’t matter one iota. Tampering is the context of a conversation.
