3 times too many his superiors let him get away with it & they should be investigated. He needs to stay in jail.
This was a leadership problem on the base. There were people in his unit that knew what he was doing and should have told someone in leadership. If they did tell someone in leadership then leadership should have removed him after the first time and the 2nd time should have removed his access and given him another job. The two warnings they reported is not the only time they talked to him about what he was doing. It just was the two times they documented. This is a perfect example of leadership not paying attention to the soldiers under them.
I agree with you, but that doesn’t change the fact that this guy is a danger to national security if he’s allowed out on supervised release. He is clearly indicated by past action that he doesn’t believe anyone can supervise him and he will do whatever the heck he wants.
@SeanPat1001 who said I was taken accountable away from him or saying he needs to be released. My point was as a veteran who was in a senior leadership position. You deal with young people who are troubled and make bad decisions all the time. You, as a leader, need to be aware of what your people are doing and their mindset. It’s your job as a leader to protect them and the nation from this type of problem. His leadership failed him, and their responsibilities to their duty to protect that information.
@Shawn The Great Oh definitely. I was an E6 in the Navy. I once disobeyed a direct order because it would’ve put someone in unnecessary danger. NCOs at that level have the mother hen gene. We look out for the people we supervise. However, this guy is a danger and needs to be restrained.
I also feel there was a failure of supervision and this guy could have been managed much better. However because he is now a danger they need to take steps to reduce that danger.
I also think they need to take steps to manage secure information better and determine if there are other loose cannons out there. This may be the tip of a big iceberg.

I think it would be prudent to keep him in prison in long enough time that anything he might know and remember becomes unclassified. I think that takes about 20 years.

They honestly should lock the higher ups up with him who allowed him to get that material.
There’s far too many alarm bells that were ignored here, he should have had his clearance removed and been investigated the first time this came to light, what the hell were his superior officers thinking.

This show he didn’t do it unintentionlly. Maybe is a good thing he is behind bars before the trial. Who knows what he might do next.
