    1. One Jamaica; one people. There can be no other sovereignty within Jamaica. There cannot be two set of laws. Sorry. If they want to be a sovereign state then they should provide for themselves their own resources. Don’t expect support from tax payers of Jamaica.

  1. What exactly should he apologize for though? The Maroons need to be wise. Do not push the secession/sedition button ⛔ We don’t want a civil war.

    1. it wouldn’t be a civil war it would be the annihilation of the maroons ,blood , and words are words i dont know why they upset.

  2. Y’all saying the Maroons should apologise but for what? I understand Jamaica Is One Island But We Can’t Fight Now What Our Forefathers Have Already fought. Andrew is JUST the prime minister he can in no way amend their rights. Some Of You Are Just Jumping On Bandwagons And Not taking the time out to understand our history. The Maroons are Jamaican history and we should respect that! I lost so many respect for Andrew, there are other ways we can go about doing things and he was disrespectful

    1. @Maison de Michelle Antoinette To an extent but not sovereign. The British themselves said the maroons are not indistinguishable from HRM citizens. The maroons are not above Jamaican law.

    2. @Jonathan White Inside their territory they are, its just the facts. Can you imagine the American govt. interrupting an American Indian annual festivity? Do you know there are international protections on groups like this?

    1. @Stewy 1156 hi fellow classmates 😀😀🤝🤝🤝tell them again who to go and watch, they will learn something lol

    2. @Stewy 1156 I have some knowledge that Richard Curry has some dialogues with people outside of Jamaica.
However, I don’t think he has any direct proprietorship or hierness to any land in the Cockpit Country because the same Queen of England bestowed the full leadership & control of Jamaica to the JLP government in 1962.

So in essence, if Maroon couldn do it when the queen was in control, they still can not do it now.
They only have “Previllege to live” on the land “unaffected by the queen”…
And sadly, the Jamaican Constitution is headed by the Queen.

Therefore, they are the only people in Jamaica that can not be prosecuted by Jamaican Law, unless they commit a crime against the state or state property… Which is the same as offending the British Colony after the treaty is formed.

That is why the PM stepped to the fore.😁
      The shooting occurred in ACCOMPONG.

It is only courtesy that the Jamaican Authority could go in and investigate.
Curry has to accommodate them in.. and shepherd them out.

      Was that what you witnessed?😁

    3. @Allstar Ghetto Chef the bottom line is that we have to keep an eye on what’s happening. The Maroons are no where near Sovereign. They depend on the Jamaican government for almost everything. Water, light, school, hospital, roads etc. Maroons arrangement with the Jamaican government is similar to American Indian arrangement with the American government. Curry statement about Sovereign State is a big joke.

  3. Jamaica is not independent jamaica is rule by the queen 👑 of england ask the governor general ask Andrew him know he’s on the queen privy council so the maroon have rights

  4. I DONT APPRECIATE THE WAY PM ADDRESES THE MAROON THE WHOLE JAM NEED TO BE TRANSFORM TO MAROONS I WUD BE HAPPY HOW CAN U RESPECT A PM WHO STIRS UP DIVISION SMH

  5. From i was a young boy i here about the maroon town so prime Minster it was signed by the British so therefore it is recognises and the maroon are peaceful people

  6. Why is this happening now in Jamaica and the world ……this world is coming to an end judgement day is ahead..

  7. The information can be easily checked. The media needs to do more in regards to clarifying this to the people. There is no need for an apology. The prime minister said nothing wrong. Facts do not care about feelings.

    1. @Antonio Baret u still dont get it typical for a charaltan. they are not recognised, the moors identity is thou which encompases them. their is alot you need to learn bruv. btw why would you hold them to this esteem when they basically sold out slaves just to keep autonomy???

    2. @Antonio Baret so u telling mi dat the MAROONS still would honour that treaty .lol dat meaning d3m would still sell dem bredda fi 30 chillin. Lol jah know a dem help kill Tacky and him followers also paul bogle dem help catch him ow come Nanny a hero did she fought for jamaican or MAROONS .memba MAROONS are not jamaican lol

    3. @Antonio Baret your such a liar and a pusillanimous dwarf in intellect and knowledge.. The Maroons of Accompong in St. Elizabeth plan to approach the United Nations in an effort to gain recognition as an autonomous state. this is what the contention leading up to our discussion is and you blatantly lied this shows you are unintegral ultracrepidarian who speaks out of his posterior . like how i magniloquently depreciated your authenticity as a self proclaimed scholar based on your asinine rebuttals…

  8. Jamaica priminster not stop and until he sells every part of Jamaica…and want the maroons land for mining.

  9. The Maroons has been around for generations, i agree that he was disrespful. He should put all that energy in to fighting all that crime.

  10. He’s a total shame 🤦🏽‍♀️vote him all di way out! No way can the memory and heritage of our Maroon people be nullified!

  11. To be a Sovereign, the Maroons must have their own infrastructure and have never participated in any enterprise associated with Jamaica, including accepting Jamaican currency, laws, services, use of infrastructure, etc. A Sovereign does not accept birth certificates, marriage licenses, driver’s licenses, or any legal certificates from the State. A Sovereign does not participate in chartered banks. A Sovereign does not fly another’s flag, does not sing another’s anthem, or pledge allegiance. A Sovereign conducts it’s own diplomacy across international borders. A Sovereign essentially cannot participate with or in the State. If doing so, a Sovereign loses it’s right to autonomy, essentially voiding any treaty made to another entity.
Apparently, the Maroons are considered an enclave within Jamaican territory with their own cultural norms, but are subjects to the State. There is not two Jamaica. There never was and never will be. The Maroons must realize this, swallow their historic pride, and allow Jamaica to move forward as Out of Many, One.
Playing devil’s advocate, the issue of SOVEREIGNTY must now be discussed because Holness and Jamaica don’t realize that Jamaica is not a SOVEREIGN NATION with the queen monarch as head of state. So, Maroons no Sovereign, and Jamaica no Sovereign. 🤔
