We should not use the Argentina match as a development game for the local players. The JFF needs funding so playing these big teams will help. To ensure we get more of these games we need the best available players, no quota system. The money earned from these games and world cup qualifications will develop our local football (check out Raheem Sterling’s comments on why we struggle). We may have one or two local players playing in the lower European leagues but this strategy will never see us progress as a country. So pick the low hanging fruit – big games with best available team. Think long-term by investing funds into local football. Morocco has reached their 2nd consecutive world cup. They had17 foreign born players of their squad of 23 from 2018. The JFF should be brave enough to go that route.
