    1. You nailed it. He did not have the courage you need when confronted by a monster. To quote Edmund Burke 1729 – 1797 “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” and the Republicans did nothing and our democracy is in peril as a result.

    1. @Athiestbatman
      😂 ROFL!
I told my 81 year old mother. “We should just mail all of our bills off to the Department of Treasury each month and have them sort out what the senior citizens get back *after* the bills are paid.”
      She loved that idea.
Save the postal service and the seniors tons of hours sorting through and juggling all those bills inside of America.
Yes, we still believe in the old school ways of paying bills.
      None of that bitcoin/online nonsense.
Old ways never really die, they just never get talked about with the newer generations.
      Have a blessed day.

  1. Well he may have saved his reputation by doing so. However he chose to cower for power which makes him totally unqualified to be a senator, and undeserving of the blessing he’s been given.

    1. @Craig Crawford actually ranked choice voting is better especially in the primaries. A lot of states have laws that benefit only a 2 part system which is why people have to run as a dem or republicon

  2. No matter how close you get to doing the right thing, doing the wrong thing is all we will remember. Moscow Mitch chose party over country and broke his oath of office, TWICE.

  3. It would have been interesting to see which way McConnell went if the Senate had 66 votes to convict and needed McDonnell’s vote to make it a done deal.

  4. What has to be wrong with someone to be at the end of their career, want for nothing and still not be able to muster the courage to do what one thinks is right?

    1. To me the sad thing is that the Kentucky Chelonian had the wherewithal to have been one of the greats, but he felt for whatever reasons compelled to seek to prevail by cleverness and cunning.

  5. When Mitch McConnell was the Majority Leader in the Senate he was the most powerful person in the U.S. After losing the majority he was still a force to reckon with in the Senate.
I do not understand voters who believe Trump. My sister and I got into a discussion about him and when she said he was more honest than Biden I was in disbelief. Talking about his past business dealings, marriage infidelity, and continual lying was not enough to convince her.
In the Trump vs Hilliary battle, so many did not like Hilliary that they voted for him. Maybe different candidates in 2016 would have given us different results?
I am conservative and do not agree with the government being the solution to everything but the hypocrisy of the Republicans and the support of Trump it becomes scary.
