  1. “She hasn’t said anything” so let’s report on the details and information people are speculating. Superb journalism 🤙🏼

    1. @Crossed Rifles When did I ever deny the 2016 election? Listen I get it, a lot of you ethnic beings hated it when Trump lost. So you yelled about election fraud. Then that desert hoodlum Kari Lake came in and lost the Gubernatorial race. People tend to prefer stability over craziness. How many times did you yell at Fox News when it called the 2020 race for Trump? Oh and the Republican Senatorial committee concluded there was Russian interference in 2016, and no substantive voter fraud in 2020.

  2. This is terrible journalism – the simple and glaring fact is we set free 2 criminals. What are we thinking??? Carrying fabric ??? – in an intense labor camp – you’ve got to be kidding right?? They made it sound like she was splitting rocks in a Russian mine or something.

    1. @SNOOPY SNOOP let’s also let it be known that he’s a citizen of 3 other countries and was likely spying on EVERYONE for everyone.

    2. @Jennifer Lynne WHEN HE HAS A DISHONORABLE DISCHARGE FROM THE UNITED STATES MARINES FOR STEALING OR LARCENY, THEN IT AIN’T LIKE HE’S A PRISONER OF WAR OVER THERE FOR ESPIONAGE AND AS SOON AS HE GETS 🏡 HOME WILL RECEIVE A DAMN 🥉 MEDAL 😂😅🤣😂

    3. @MC_Lov1n there’s no punishment “for weed”. I believe she was charged for smuggling less than a gram of hash oil out of the country as she was returning to the US. Stupid on her part, as well as a stupid law. That’s world we live in though.

    4. @Gregory Rowley but that’s what I’m saying. People are treating it like she isn’t a political prisoner and it’s cause she broke the law. Even though the law there isn’t even that strict on weed.

  3. I’m so sad this is happening . We should not have negotiated at all. We gave away someone who kills many Americans for a basketball player who also hates America.

    1. @G C 1) You’re attacking a point I didn’t make. “Setup” doesn’t mean she’s has no responsibility to avoid crimes!. But I’ve seen _conflicting reports._ People who hate her/conservatives say it was “hash oil”. I’ve seen other credible reports; it was CBD oil. Although if she went though customs previously and they saw hash oil and let her though, you’re making my point.
      2) Staying in the Locker room during the National Anthem IS NOT THE SAME as “Hating America”. It’s a form of _non violent protest_ (that I wouldn’t do, and don’t like) against a song whose 3rd verse describes hunting and killing escaped slaves!! That’s freedom not necessarily hatred.
You’d stay in the locker room too if they played “kill whyty” rap song at every game….

    2. @G C Bottom line is I hate liars more than I hate misguided, protestors. Too many folks are making up lies, to make this woman look worse. And it’s mostly for political propaganda purposes. That’s BS.
      Thays my fight, not her

    3. @Alvan maybe they didn’t know it was hash oil.
It is hating America. 100% we are playing songs that say kill, blackie. I’m playing a rap song that says kill whitey is done every single day on the radio.
And the 3rd verse says nothing about “hunting and killing slaves” CNN was wrong again

    4. @G C he did something wrong according to the russians and that’s what matters right? He was found guilty, just like griner, and sentenced. Doesn’t matter whether you or I think what he did was wrong because I could easily say what griner did was “nothing”. How about you do some research before chiming in on things you don’t know about. 🤨

  4. Sorry not sorry she should never have gotten out, HER choice to break the laws in a different country she deserved to serve the legitimate sentence.
Compared to our laws it’s harsh yes but she wasn’t here.
She thought the rules didn’t apply to her… send her back as we can’t support this.
CNN shame shame for trying to spin this in her favor.

  5. how about we show what the other guy who’s been in there longer and is still in there, is going through. I don’t think I’ll ever get over the fact that we literally traded a Russian arms dealer who sold weapons of destruction to people who want nothing to do with thr u.s, for a BASKETBALL PLAYER.

    1. @Mark Brooks She could, with the talentless hacks in the WNBA, BUT, her father has been a part of her WHOLE Life, so there’s a benefit most of those … people dont have.

    2. AND IF YA BOY DUMP WAS STILL IN OFFICE HE WOULDA GAVE UP BOUT UKRAINE POLAND AND GERMANY IF VLAD WOULD JUST SAY SOME NICE THINGS BOUT HIS HAIR CUT!

    3. @brutally_honest with that type of attitude I know you’re not an American.
Read the 1st amendment and then Check yourself Boy.

    1. @SNOOPY SNOOP she wasn’t charged with espionage, she was charged with possession. Paul Whelan, the disgraced FORMER Marine (dishonorable discharge, court martial) was tried and convicted of espionage by Russia and sentenced to 16 years. The odds of Russia ever negotiating his release with any of the countries he holds citizenship (US, UK, Ireland, and Canada) are SLIM TO NONE.

    2. @Jennifer Lynne I KNOW SO THAT’S WHY HE AIN’T COMING BACK NO TIME SOON ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY WANT THEIR SPY IN GERMANY 🇩🇪 WHO IN PRISON FOR MURDER FOR HIM =OOOPS 😂

  6. Looks like she had a better life than people that are serving in the army and then living in cardboard boxes on the streets in the United States

    1. @Casey Clark of course, of course))). You believe CNN, they always tell the “truth”))).
Everything the US does is illegal and criminal.

    2. @Casey Clark And by the way, the United States illegally imprisons not only Russians, but also Americans. There are more prisoners in American prisons than in Chinese. American prisons are overcrowded. And American police officers are killing Americans right on the streets, without trial. The USA is a third world country, there are no rights and freedoms for people here.

  7. It’s sad how hard the media is trying to make this sound like a good deal. Glad she’s home but at what cost.

    1. But Biden traded the “Merchant of Death” for the “Merchant of missed dunks”…That sounds fair, doesn’t it?

    2. But nothing there is no cost the fact that many Americans think that Victor kills Americans is beyond me yes he was a arms dealer not any different from arms dealer here in America does every gun dealer in America goes to prison when someone takes a gun and kills somebody in America hell no victor was arrested by entrapment in Bangkok saying he is selling weapons to know terrorist organization

  8. She carried fabric and broke her glasses and you are acting like she was breaking rocks 20 hour per day. God forbid she had broken a nail.

    1. @Furio Not a spy, an outdated weapons dealer who’s sentance was running out. He would have been traded anyway. Stop trusting R3ich wing propaganda.

    2. Repent. Believe in Jesus. John 3:16 KJV – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Luke 13:3 KJV – I tell you nay: but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV – Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

  9. Imagine a country you declare your hatred for trades you for a death dealing criminal instead of a soldier that served his country with honor.

    1. I won’t EVER stand for another anthem and I love my flawed, often racist country. Nationalism is NOT patriotism

    2. @clovis people can protest policies and laws all day long, but once they disrespect and protest the flag and the national anthem, that’s anti-American.

    3. @greg j “You all”? I’m an Independent voter. Bottom line, whether I agree with everything or not, it’s peaceful protest. She wasn’t out burning down neighborhoods. She did it within the law in the exact way protests are meant to happen. I actually agree with the problem with the militarization of our police force. I think it needs to be inclusive of all Americans though, not just black ones. Police have been given far too much power and little accountability. That just happens to be the group who stood up against it. If you don’t like something, go do something about it. It’s what America is, dude. We have the freedom to do that. Many places don’t. Don’t lose that privilege. Again, she could have been out burning down buildings.

    1. @ᦓꫝꪖꪀꪀꪖ卄 well don’t snuggle drugs on an airplane and I think you’ll be fine. It wasn’t for nothing.

    2. @ᦓꫝꪖꪀꪀꪖ卄 she thought she’d lose those years but she didn’t. So no she didn’t suffer. And it’s a fairly simple law to keep unless you have some dependency.

    3. @Kathy Bates imagine feeling so entitled that you think that American laws apply to you anywhere in the world. You wonder why the developing world is switching to the BRICS

    1. @MWENDA “all she did was carry fabric around”

Why don’t you not speak about things you have idea of huh?

  10. Two points: 1) First why not wait until you can learn directly from the source about her living conditions rather than rely on heresay? This is sloppy reporting. 2) Secondly, whatever happened to refusing to negotiate with terrorists? Now every international traveler is a kidnapping target. Fortunately Ms. Briner was arrested in Russia. In Bali, like many countries, the penalty for possessing drugs is death, with people now serving life sentences.

  11. How many Americans are over there that could come home as well. What’s so different in this case?

I’m trying to find a middle ground in all of this and I’m tapping out. This isn’t right. They know we know this isn’t right leaving others there for this trade.

So of course they feel the need to show us how “bad” it is.

To even hear the president say she was being unjustly detained when she broke Russian law

The overseas work factories/sweat camps sound like they have it hard.

    1. @Havanorange I listen to CNN occasion just so I can find out what’s the next evil or stupid thing that the left is trying to pull

    2. @Sharon that’s what CNN is telling you, which means, there’s a 95% chance that it’s not true, and I’m being kind about the 95%. Most of the time, especially if it comes to president Trump, whatever CNN or MSNBC might say, if you can picture or think of the exact opposite, that’s most likely what happened. And they’ve proven that over and over and over, it’s one reason why they’ve lost over 50 million dollars this year alone, they have the lowest ratings in the history of their Network they’re getting what they deserve

    1. @Jennifer Lynne what idiots? The one who release Brittney Griner for a Russian arms merchant. Putin did this knowing the rest of the world would view the US as a complete joke in this deal.

    2. @Jennifer Lynne Do you understand how dumb you are???? They were treating her wayyyyyyyy better than any other prisoner there US news media biggest liars EVER

    3. Yes America has some older dirtier fucking jails n prisons, but for the most part they all have healthcare for the inmates. Imagine catching a staph infection in a Russian prison and dying months later cuz they don’t have amoxicillin
