Lets mandate term limits, that will fix a lot of things.
Becoming less democratic is not the answer to any question. Term limits mean that the officeholder will never develop the understanding of the issues that are needed to fulfill his legislative responsibilities. Instead, he/she will be compelled to rely on the acumen of the staffers who build up such knowledge over many years on the job.
I think pretty much everyone feels this way so why are we waiting around lets make it happen. Whether we feel like it or not we have the power!
