DeSantis is not going to break with Trump on any major issue. His path to the primary is to be Trump, without the baggage.

Trump once said “I think you have to” (punish women for aborting a pregnancy) then quickly backtracked. DeSantis has to backtrack – quick.

I like how a majority of both sides are agreeing to continue support Ukraine, my problem now is whether the leader will continue to support Ukraine or not, and I’m for stopping Russian aggression in its tracks, instead of allowing them a free way to

Leaving out the morality of supporting a country that wants democracy and looking at it just practically: you use a small percentage of the Dept of Defense budget, hurt one of your greatest enemies, and have no American troops’ lives lost by supporting Ukraine. I can’t think of an easier no-brainer…. unless you actually *want* Russia to win.
As a Republican I am deeply disappointed by the current party. Now Putin is probably thinking “Okay, I just go to stick it out until DeSantis becomes President.”

It seems the strategy DeSantis is using is merely being an extreme contrarian to anything considered “main thought” or “main stream”, which even includes subjects that both democrats and republicans are usually unified on, just out of spite or to stand out.

To DeSantis it’s all narrative. There is no BS, no fact he wouldn’t twist, no nonsense he wouldn’t hammer home, no narrative he wouldn’t spew to further his career. It’s how he’s gotten where he is. Which just makes it grosser. This stuff he’s saying isn’t his view. He’s choosing to say it.
