Republican congressman says FBI seized his cell phone

Republican Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania said that the FBI had seized his cell phone. The search is connected to an investigation being conducted in part by the Justice Department inspector general, according to a personal familiar with the matter. While Perry has not said why his phone was seized, the watchdog also is investigating the actions of former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark, and potentially others, as it examines the department's role in seeking to assist former President Donald Trump to block certification of the 2020 election results. #CNN #News

  1. So, why are the Congress & Senate members allowed to make threats against the DOJ and FBI for doing their job? Threats that law enforcement are going to or will most likely cause security concerns for their families. It is also going to keep witnesses from coming forward, which then becomes interference with an investigation, I’m pretty sure that is a crime, using their elected position to do the above mentioned is an abuse of power for personal benefit, I’m pretty sure that is a crime. All along they’re trying to cover up for the former president and cover up their own illegal behavior for the events before, during and after Jan 6th, since they didn’t get their pardons that they asked for …. the last-ditch effort is to destroy documents proving their guilt. Any other citizen in this country would be arrested for these things and already in jail. And now they are trying to fund-raise from a lie? So, we are now going to let all criminals fund-raise for breaking the law?

    1. @Rondough Howell I think Rudi lost his right to practice but Teflon thinks he’s smart he’s gotten away with all types of crimes.

      1. $ settlement: cat, elephant, TV
      2. KKKDaddy Fred’s money and influence.

DJT? A loser, who’s collected a circle of deplorables to take the fall and pay the price. What did DJT’s acolytes receive in return?

Lost their reputations, got a minuscule amount of money, and lost whatever reputation they might have had before they met DJT.

  2. Scott Perry should ask Jeffrey Clark and Mark Meadows why the FBI took his phone… most likely the former two birds are singing…

    1. I’m sure Clark is singing like a canary. Look at him, he won’t survive it in prison. And he knows.

  3. All this time he thought just Al Capone ,I am untouchable! We elected them to represent us and somehow they there to represent themselves! Bounch of crooks

  4. Trump at anytime can release the warrant to the press.
    Why has he not?
    Pretty simple.
    Let’s speculate on that.

    1. @NBA1 The action of an executive official of the government that mitigates or sets aside the punishment for a crime.
The granting of a pardon to a person who has committed a crime or who has been convicted of a crime is an act of clemency, which forgives the wrongdoer and restores the person’s Civil Rights. At the federal level, the president has the power to grant a pardon, and at the state level the governor or a pardon board made up of high-ranking state officials may grant it.

  5. Remember when the Republicans were all up in arms over the Breonna Taylor no knock raid? No I don’t either.

    1. well, they assume that THEY are the law and order, and whatever they do becomes law and order, and the other side is always wrong.

    2. @Richard Reese perhaps if dennison had respected the process and answered at least 1 subpoena, he wouldn’t have to get a new safe to hold all those checks y’all been sending him since ole joe smoked dat butt.

  6. Typically, on the face of the warrant, is listed the criminal statute(s) suspected of being violated. That can tell us a good deal.

    1. @Bazooka Joe
That’s your opinion. But you don’t think the democrats do exactly the same thing, both sides do, it’s part of the game

  7. Scott Perry seems to think that he shouldn’t have had his phone taken because he is a sitting Congressman.

I say that sitting Congressmen should be held to a higher standard than us regular citizens because they are elected to positions of power and authority in order to represent us regular citizens… 🤔

  8. People that work for government agencies and conduct their work via phone know their devices could be subject to search or seizure. Why these folks think as “public servants” they don’t need to abide by the same scrutiny as other government employees is beyond me.
