As he damn well knows, this vote was about the constitutionality of disqualification to hold future office, which he damn well knows the Constitution mentions IMMEDIATELY AFTER REMOVAL.

It’s 100% Constitutional to impeach Trump. It’s literally what impeachment is for. Holding officials AND FORMER OFFICIALS accountable for their actions. Leaving office does not nullify the crime. Impeachment has been used on those in office as well as those who have resigned or been voted out. So any arguments that he’s “a private citizen” is bullshit. Because he’s not. He’s A FORMER OFFICIAL. So his actions while in office has consequences.

It’s been done many times throughout America’s history. Officials have been tried while in office as well as after they resigned or were voted out.
