Republican senator: GOP should ‘stand up’ against Marjorie Taylor Greene’s comments

In an interview with CNN's Dana Bash, Republican Sen. Rob Portman said his party's leaders "ought to stand up" against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and that there should be "a strong response" to her controversial actions and recently resurfaced incendiary comments amid calls for her expulsion from Congress.

    1. @aboultbee1 if they dont he still get all the perks i for one do NOT want to keep paying his salary or for secret service or the million for traveling THEN also make sure he can’t run again

    2. I was going to say something but you already said it here. Voter suppression was upheld in Ohio and he voted against the voting rights act.. So nice guy but not for the people.

    3. I got news for y’all, the 2 partys is only a tool to divide us.
Meanwhile, they stand united against us.

  1. How can they say it’s unconstitutional when it’s only bc of McConnell that the trial didn’t start while Trump was in office. Congress impeached Donny when he was in office…McConnell told the senate to stay away and on break. That’s 💯% on purpose.

  2. By extention of the logic: if a taxidriver goes on retirement, is he bound to pay for the tickets he got while working, and are notified to him after retirement?

    1. @Brooke Baldvag . . . What’s Dana Bash or her “horse face” got to do with anything, you goose? He wasn’t kidnapped and forced to do an interview; if he didn’t want to, he could have declined. Say something pertinent or sit quietly and let the grown ups talk.

    1. @Trisha R we were calling him crazy but I guess he really showed us with his logical and well thought argument.

For my next company I’m selling tin foil hats.

  3. This man is a backstabber. He just lied through his teeth by saying that the Constitution only mentions impeachment in connection with removal. As he damn well knows, this vote was about the constitutionality of disqualification to hold future office, which he damn well knows the Constitution mentions IMMEDIATELY AFTER REMOVAL.

    1. @Calvin Parish What concerns me is tens of millions of swine similar to yourself overthrowing the government through your constant vomit of lies, threats and violence. You are nowhere near the majority and if you’re going to lie, cheat and steal then you have forfeited your franchise and have no business anywhere near government or voting. You will lose this, it’s only a question of when and exactly how.

    2. @Richard Tyme Fowler former vice-president Pence… where is he anyway. … hiding under a rock with mother and turtle 🐢 moscow Mitch?

  4. So your ridiculous argument is “you cannot indict a sitting president” and now that he’s out of office you come up with the new bs excuse that “ you cannot indict a former president because he’s a regular citizen “? So let’s let him get away with his crimes? I guess the law only applies to the poor.

    1. @EDGAR FRANCO removing a former president has unintended consequences. GOP can then impeach and remove former president Obama because some of his supporters killed cops few years ago. You don’t want Obama impeached and removed, do you?

    2. @pep peroni I don’t care who the president is, if he deserves to removed, then remove/impeach him, no president should be able to get away with sedition or any type of crimes. I don’t adore or swear blind loyalties to anyone. The orange clown needs to be held accountable. This goes beyond partisanship.

    3. It’s 100% Constitutional to impeach Trump. It’s literally what impeachment is for. Holding officials AND FORMER OFFICIALS accountable for their actions. Leaving office does not nullify the crime. Impeachment has been used on those in office as well as those who have resigned or been voted out. So any arguments that he’s “a private citizen” is bullshit. Because he’s not. He’s A FORMER OFFICIAL. So his actions while in office has consequences.

    4. @pep peroni ay fery well thaid. Where do you learn how to troll that way, in elementary school? Go eat your pepperoni.

  5. So he just want his cake and eat it to. So spineless to do something about it or assuming any responsibility

  6. It’s about being held accountable. Private citizens would be held responsible and pay for the crime, which it is a crime.

    1. @nexus x You CAN impeach FORMER OFFICIALS for their actions while in office. That’s literally what impeachment it for.
It’s been done many times throughout America’s history. Officials have been tried while in office as well as after they resigned or were voted out. It’s not about whether or not they’re currently in office. It’s about crimes they committed while they were. Doesn’t matter if you resign, you still have to be held accountable.

    2. @Adam Taylor Lol good luck impeaching him from literally nothing, hes not going to run again, and hes already cemented himself as one of the greatest presidents we’ve had, and the biggest troll of the left. in the long run, you lost. Also, the constitution states impeachment of a person(s) of office, not a former, nice one though. Are you going to call out maxine waters? considering what she did was far worse than what the media SAYS trump did, without any proof, so please, answer that for me, would you call for maxine waters impeachment?

    1. Yeah right!
They write the history books & they teach their children to be oligarchs to despise the people

    1. YEs. He has supported Trump through everything…..He tries to portray himself as respectable, law abiding, honorable…..He is my senator and has no respect from me! He doesn’t care about justice.

    2. @proud kam what about you learn how to spell before you make stupid comments like this. Do your homework or, you’re homework if that helps you
      understand.

    3. FU Russian bolt
troll!! You tell your master Putin That America is coming For him Big time And we don’t come alone!! We are not after the Russian citizens. Putin is in the crosshairs of the West And it’s many allies . If his own people don’t kill Putin Then he will be down with one way or another .

  7. So little passion …doesn’t care about the truth, doesn’t want prosecution of Republicans who committed crimes.

  8. They just need to go by the books for the situation. Once this whole trial is over, they need to have him picked up for criminal charges. Period! Those people who got locked up should NOT go down by themselves.

  9. This is the funniest interview ever: Trumplicans are not going to stand up against decency and true. so why is Sen Portman wasting his time and words lying.

    1. Held accountable for what? Asking for an audit of statistical anomalies in the election? Let me guess… for inciting violence? Please quote exactly where he said people should commit violence. Then please look at where your current president and vice president were bailing out violent criminals and saying they wanted to punch Republicans in the face.
