Roe v. Wade protests outside Supreme Court after reported leak of draft opinion | USA TODAY

Protestors quickly gathered at the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, D.C., after a draft opinion of the court's was leaked that suggested the court is considering a decision that would overturn the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that established a constitutional right to abortion. Politco was first to report the draft opinion, which USA TODAY could not independently verify.

The stunning leak of a draft opinion set off an unexpected firestorm around one of the nation's most divisive culture war issues, including protests in front of the steps at the Supreme Court.

  1. I’ve said it before I’ll say it again. With the exact same logic that the Supreme Court is using, ie the constitution doesn’t state this, one could decide the supreme court doesn’t have the right declare any policy or legislation unconstitutional, because it’s a power they decided to give themselves, not one they got from the constitution.

    1. Except that virtually no other policies/legislation allow for the ending of a human life so there’s that……….

O.k., so if circumstances such as that which you mentioned are exempted, you’d agree that abortion should be outlawed.

  2. “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled. The Constitution makes no reference to abortion, and no such right is implicitly protected by any constitutional provision.

  3. the people are supreme…ly incapable of making their own choices. that’s why God invented government

  4. The individual involved in leaking a government document needs to face charges for breaking the law.

    1. @Lee Banning My mother had 8 miscarriages before me. Unlike you she valued life and held it sacred. And I am grateful.

  5. Never underestimate the wrath of women with sear consciences when their “right” to decide who lives and who dies is threatened.

  6. it’s such a scary world we live in where rights to a woman are being threatened and taken away because of a clump of cells.

    1. A clump of cells does not have a heartbeat. The heartbeat can be heard as early as 5 weeks , most abortions are not as early as this , most abortions are are done when the baby is in full shape. This is science and facts do research.

    2. @CoTy first of all it’s a human not a clump of cells and if you knew basic biology then you would know life begins at conception

  7. This country don’t care about women they say they do but really don’t you have the right to tell someone what to do with THEIR body you wouldn’t like it if someone had command over your body so why do it to them ? This why I don’t like this country it’s becoming the thing they walkways preach us about .
