Scenes around Windsor Castle as Prince Philip is laid to rest | USA TODAY

A week after his death, Prince Philip is being laid to rest Saturday with a funeral fit for a royal, but within the confines of Britain's COVID-19 pandemic rules and in the "no fuss" manner the Duke of Edinburgh requested.

The Duke of Edinburgh, husband of Queen Elizabeth II for more than 70 years, offered a steady presence behind her at thousands of public events, becoming as familiar to the British people as the queen, if not always as beloved.

His death was marked with 41-gun salutes at locations across the United Kingdom, including the Tower of London and Edinburgh Castle, as well as in Gibraltar and on Royal Navy ships at sea.

    1. I dont think you saw how he actually looked like before he died. That man extended his life by decades

    2. @DENNIS WAYNE PENNENGA Environment like this? An environment where life is easier than ever before than anytime in history…………..Don’t let your self be fooled by watching too much news, we live in amazing times.

    3. @Raw Bacon I think he meant why’d he want to keep living if he looked like one of those zombies from the walking dead… the Dude probably had at least 5 chronic illnesses that probably caused him mild to severe pain.

    4. @sebastian giraldo About 2 decades beyond average but the average for someone of his generation included many who died in the war and childhood illnesses (also adult illnesses) that have been eradicated plus people that worked hard labor jobs that don’t exist anymore at least in England………In the grand scheme of things I call that a “few”……..To be more precise I mean you’re not going to double or triple your lifespan even with all the money in the world.

    1. @RaptorJesus and thus the rehabilitation process. And just because one does not have the ability to say what they want because they aren’t terribly popular doesn’t mean they’re too cowardly to do so. That’s a naive assumption on your part.

    2. @KA- BOOM!!! You cannot “rehabilitate” the NSDAP. Once you’ve murdered a few million people, your ideology and its practitioners are rightfully tossed into the garbage-dump of history and left to rot.

    3. @RaptorJesus and that’s where you’re wrong. Because rehabilitation already happened. The members of NSDAP didn’t just go away into a fairy land after the war, they stayed and worked, some even held position of power after a while. You think ideologies gets dumped into a garbage dump of history because they killed a couple
Million? Boy, wait till you learn about Stalinism and Maoism.

    4. @KA- BOOM!!! I’m well aware of what happened to the lower-level Nazis(and like a handful of the upper echelon, like Speer) after the war. But that was not a rehabilitation of Nazism, it was a rehabilitation of a few of its members, most of which were frankly just apolitical opportunists who recognized an easy path to fulfilling their own designs.

The “rehabilitation” I’m talking about is the actual core facets of the ideology. The Volkisch, blood & soil, hyper-nationalist, anti-semitic militarism. To most people, and rightfully so, all of those things are revolting garbage that resulted in the industrialized murder of millions whos’ only crime was being born wrong.

Measures like the “documentary” that sparked this discussion is an attempt to justify the unjustifiable through purposeful misrepresentation of facts along with things just made up whole-cloth, which is only effective because the average person has a depressingly poor understand of the history involved.

Much like the actual nazis, they’re taking advantage of people’s ignorance.

    5. @RaptorJesus You ever heard of the UKRAINE FAMINE NAME HOLY something did you ever wonder why americans never hear anything about that? Could it be AIPAC and the ADL have a lot of lobbying power in the school system maybe? How is it my comments get deleted if I speak certain things or words, you must be apologetic towards these people. Just FYI im not even a nazi but communism and marxism idealogy is not they way and thats what they promote to the youth. I believe people should be exposed to diffrent kinds of thought, but it seems there scared of whites having a nationalist ideology. It doesn’t fit there narrative they promote degeneracy and race mixing.

    1. Saving this comment for later. Saw a post on r/conspiracy which said that there were lots of satanic imagery involved with Prince Philip’s death.

  1. I would have thought they’d be a much larger crowd! He’s been looking like a corpse for decades.

  2. no idea who this dude is but whoever striped that lawn did a great job. Nice looking castle too.

    1. He was married to the Queen, but couldn’t be King, because he married into the family. His son Charles is suppose to be King, someday.🤷‍♀️

    1. @Barbara Patten Yes God loves you this is just stinky flesh may God also love you but im a pentacostol I don’t believe in the trinity
