  1. Is the Psoj Jamaica? Is the government representing only the PSOJ or are they suppose to represent the majority? Is it the majority asking for state of emergency or is it just the PSOJ?

  2. Just hand over the security to Renato Adams. This Prime Minister downfall is that he is very stubborn. The Police Commissioner and Chang should have been fired 2 years ago. They are not trained in crime fighting and they have no solutions that will improve the current situation.

  3. Don’t we all see the obvious problems. Jamaican parents are kids having kids. No mentally maturity to be a parent so the grow destructive kids. When a girl just leave high school and be forced to be a mother with this poverty things like that position a child to be off track by the the age of 10 year old. If we want to solve Jamaica’s problem, let’s legalize abortion and put family aid in place to evaluate if someone can afford a child. Of if that person environment is suitable for a child and I guarantee over a 10 year period there will be a change.

    1. No government can save these people if they don’t change their ways and their culture towards destruction. You need to take a day in some of these wasted community to see how destructive Jamaicans operates. The foundation is to have stable homes with proper family structure. These people have their kids being man and woman without knowing what it feels like to being a child. The other day I saw with my own eyes a baby about 1+ mother shouted some swear words at that little infant. How can that baby grow up to know something good if the home is teaching destruction? Without a stable foundation which is the family their can be no better future.

  4. What this guess don’t realize that there are outside foreign interests that are messing up all of the Caribbean and South and Central America Black communities. Crime is at an alarming rate in every black community in the Caribbean, south and central America and also in the Black communities in US, UK, and Canada. So most smart people would say something sinister is happening here. Jamaica have to limit foreign foods on the island. Eat more of your own food. Foreign foods can contain chemicals that will make you violent. However, The youths have to take responsibility for themselves. The government have to set up more trade schools and IT training centers. Going to college for 4 years is not appealing to the younger generation. They want to be able to learn a skill within 1 to 2 years and start making money.

    1. @Dee Black i did state in my comments that the youths need to take responsibility but it would be foolish to turn a blind eye to the abundance of foreign influence on the island. Few good and many bad. The radio stations dont even play Reggae music anymore. Black American lifestyle and culture is Negative and the Jamaican youths are being fed this negative lifestyle and culture on a daily basis. Tourism minister Ed Bartlett rejoicing about the significant increase in tourism, and the increase in jobs and foreign earnings it will bring. Sounds great but he fail to tell the Jamaican public that increase tourism also brings increase crime because these tourist demand illegal drugs and gangs fighting for territory to supply the illegal drugs to them. A few Casinos are getting ready to open in 2023 and the Tourism minister fail to warn the Jamaican public that research shows that Casinos in your neighborhood will lead to increased substance abuse, mental illness and suicide, violent crime, auto theft and larceny, cyber theft, prostitution, and bankruptcy. The Jamaican Government has not produced a Police Force that can manage and effectively reduce crime. So if you think the crime problem is bad now, just wait until the Casinos open next year. It will be worse. The Jamaican government will need to move fast to improve technologies and put the right people in place and employ the right strategies. Chang and the Police Commissioner needs to get fired. Point Blank and Period. Also, eating the food that you grow is something the people can do right now because research show that some of the foreign foods that are imported have chemical in them that can change your body composition. A lot of the foreign foods not healthy and can lead to a lot of health problems.

  5. Stop blaming the youth. It is the state – not “boy”! This is the problem. Yes, there are connective factors – a state that does not create opportunity; rather it stifles opportunity. It reserves black, poor youth to a form of captivity; mental and physical. Why? So that the middle-class, and upper-class can have a ready source of cheap labor.

  6. It is not the responsibility of the PSOJ to raise peoples children. What we are not talking about is personal responsibility and accountability.

  7. It is too late to “arrest what is happening now” .
What can be done, is to create a parallel path
notwithstanding the current crime rate, with a
determination to change the mind-set of the
nation. This unfortunately will take another three
to four generations of creating opportunity for all
the people. Not just some! In the interim, things will
only get worst, before it starts getting better. As it is right now, and without a new course, Jamaica is a country without a future; for want of a more appropriate word.

  8. The over arcing philosophy from Negril to Morant Point, is a zero sum one. Some people must always win, while the rest must lose. That is in essence the problem. Totally abstract but totally destructive, and will only lead to the demise of everyone. What the country is experience now is a brutal and cold blooded case of negotiation. But government refuses to come to the table, and, instead, is doubling down on brutality. It will not work. Because the more it becomes brutal, the more the poor will retaliate; an endless cycle of diabolisms.

  9. One thing Jamaicans who really care to see Jamaica restored can do is, find a way to vote out the JLP and PNP from parliament; mek dem guh fine real wok!

  10. The amount of soe that both government has call in the last 20 years. It’s like it’s a waste of time. They need to find another way to do things. It’s not working
