Suspect at large in Texas after 5 fatally shot ‘execution style’

A gunman is still at large after allegedly fatally shooting five people, including an 8-year-old, in a Cleveland, Texas home after a rampage that started with a noise complaint about gunfire, according to the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, identified as 38-year old Francisco Oropeza, was apparently shooting a rifle in his yard when neighbors asked him to stop because a baby was trying to sleep, San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers said. The suspect then opened fire on the neighbors, Capers said.
Authorities found the victims Friday night after receiving a harassment report about 11:30 p.m. local time, the sheriff said. #RyanYoung #cnn

  1. wow, that’s really sad. they were trying to go easy on him by just asking him directly to stop shooting instead of calling the cops, and he killed them for it.

    1. @MLynette Pinky don’t blame the cops, blame Texas lawmakers who keep glorifying guns and gun ownership that ties the hands of the police to do much of anything.

    2. apparently they had called the cops prior for the same thing and the cops didn’t do anything about it…. now here we are.

  2. I’m now numb to these stories. I distinctly remember the shooting at the McDonald’s in the 80s and how shocking it was to the whole country. It’s just an insane world.

    1. @Jason Martin No. It really doesn’t. American media is well known for not reporting much outside of America.
Americans tend to be a bit oblivious to other countries or you would know.
This level of mass shootings is unique to America.

    1. @Jeremy I’ll go with Buddha. Countries who believe in that religion fare much better when it comes to violence.

    2. @GloryBeToGodForever They’re not useless. They make the praying person feel good about themselves. Other than that – nothing

    3. @C M What is the relevance of population size and demographics? The rationale is quite simple . Gun controls reduce the number of guns washing around the community and licensing and registration keeps tabs on who owns them. This puts a brake on the number of loonies with access to guns.

  3. There were previous complaints, yet he wasn’t in jail? When you report a crazy neighbor, the police can’t do anything unless they assault you. That’s why people don’t get involved, they’re frightened, don’t blame them. I’m experiencing the same thing. RIP

    1. @Dularr As an outsider I’ll take your word for it, although it seems bizarre.
Having said that, it’s been proved time and again that prosecution and punishment don’t deter crime.
If it did, death penalty states would have zero murders. Look at how well the drug laws have worked – not.

I know a lot of Americans don’t want to hear it, but gun controls are really the only answer to mass shootings.

  4. Firearms are available like candies to be bought by untrained/ mentally-ill/ ex-convict/ alcoholic people and stolen by violent criminals. Beginning September 1, 2021, HB1927 made it legal in Texas for most people 21 or over to carry a firearm in a holster without a permit both openly and/or concealed

  5. When I was a kid, the Manson murders was a game changer. It was considered horrific and mind-boggling. We started locking our doors at night. Now, people are just numb to all of it. All the shootings and mass murders. Just another day in America. Society is sick. Don’t even want to go out anymore. The lack of respect, common courtesy, and shame among people is appalling and makes you a target on the roads, in the stores, and in public (or your own home) anywhere and anytime. You have to carry a gun to compete with sickos out there and the NRA and gun manufacturers love that. The politicians do nothing. It’s just not right. Our society is is a literal death spiral.

    1. @Martin Copeland Exactly!! Lol ..see, you know more than you give yourself credit for!! And scholars? I get that man, I really do! But there are also scholars that are on the other side, and trust me, some of the degrees that they are able to achieve are not simple..they aren’t morons 😆.. I’m not saying that proves, or disproves anything..have you read the book for yourself?

  6. This criminals deserves death penalities period,
    This is absolutely heartbreaking,
Rest in peace all those people souls, and
My deepest condolences to the victims family involved.🙏

    1. Well, just remember it’s mental illness and once the execution is just breeze away, there is strong wind blowing.

  7. My condolences 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹to the family and friends 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾! Justice to the family!!!

    1. @Pigzorkly Can we get rid of Knives too? Have you seen Rwanda Genocide? That was all done with a machete.

    1. @Red Spiral Ray let me look into that because I’m pretty sure it doesn’t say “you have the right to drink”

    1. @Daniel Ochoa when the news refers to him as a Mexican national he is either a tourist or an illegal.

  8. Lord have mercy on human kind! What is happening to us… it seems like the news is getting more tragic and gruesome by the day. 😞

    1. @DigitalRageInc And guess what? Nothing happened. Kids used to bring guns to school in rural areas all tbe time 50 years ago, but something changed in that 50 years. Blaming guns is nonsense.

  9. We are living in such a time of hostility, anger and rage. Hug your loved ones tight and give thanks 🙏🏼 for said love.

  10. What a horrible , tightening incident my heart goes out for the family who lost their loved ones in such tragic situation

  11. At this point people need to stop approaching neighbors and just anonymously call someone out.

    1. That’s exactly my thought! If u have a neighbor crazy enough to shoot his guns in the yard, why the hell would u think its a good idea to confront him. Call the police thats all.

  12. We are living in a time where too many monsters are too comfortable being monsters.

    1. @XoXo1133 So true, if this happened in Seattle this guy if caught would be released the same afternoon or at the latest the next day! It’s all about the criminal not about the law abiding citizens! We should never facilitate criminals especially dangerous ones!

  13. Peace be upon all of us and those who have left us forever..
Do these incidents happen so frequently in certain states only or everywhere in Usa? I would be worrying so much for my family and friends everyday if I were living in USA. May all of us stay healthy, happy and safe.
